.........Unless (in the case of eg Wirtz or Haaland they're yet to have the big-club-move) you've just been seen to be a league winner (or close to) then you're not on THEIR radar.
Ok fair call. Not too many Rodris out there but the best we can get. Stiller, Rovella, Wharton or even (at a pinch) Onana from Villa. To me it’s THE most important position we need to fill. Let’s face it Bis and Bent aren’t up to it. We had the 6th best attack (statistically) last season but our defence was shit. Yes we had injuries but you need a defensive mid who does the defensive grunt work. We haven’t had one for …. God knows how long

(Side question...... Correct me if I'm wrong, but they're not all the same style of player. Should we not focus on a specific profile rather than just the broad-stroke of needing a #6.)
I'm pretty sure we didn't have any space for a 6 to operate in. So even if one of ours *could* play that position, we wouldn't have seen it. Our entire midfield was about 5m deep.
If he's not good enough for CL then it's pointless regardless.
