Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The West Ham fans I know want him out as he chucked the towel in in their opinion. However I very much doubt they want him coming to us . Levy and Sullivan cooking up a lose lose deal where nobody is happy

Sounds about right

All of that sounds believable to me. Whether it's true or not is another matter
It's a given that of course Levy wants to win the EPL.
I am not keen on Eze so I hope that spec is true. Bents I also like, the Dragon I am not so keen on.
Romero stays would be good if he leaves for a big transfer would be acceptable.
Eze is a very good player, but he came into week 32 last season with only 2 Premier League goals. Maybe that's more a reflection on Crystal Palace than on him, but I'm not sure he would provide the scoring as a winger that people may assume. Finding a veteran player who can push Tel for playing time while he develops might make more sense.

If Kudus comes (and I have no idea if the rumours are true) KUMB will be so much fun if he really turns it on. Would be the cherry and the icing on the cake to see them completely lose the plot over a player they wanted out tearing it up at Spurs.

Club has no intention of buying CL marquee signings,so we deal with the next level down

But so is Romero.
I already quoted this but for clarification:
Romero In the premier league since signing for us:
red cards - 2
Mistakes leading to goal - 3
Last season only:
red cards - 0
errors leading to goal - 0
last 2 seasons combined:
red cards - 0
Errors leading to a goal - 1
(All from the Premier League Statistics)
He isn't a 'walking red card' he's actually a quality hard tackling ball playing centre back who has no more red cards than we should expect. So many people want to sign 'marquee' players but won't recognise one when we already have one.

We’re in the CL, if we offered them the wages and paid the fee, we could take any player we really want from the majority of clubs.

Rice was from Wham

If we went as hard for Wharton from Palace , for example, we’d get him
All I’m saying was Rice was like step 4 or 5 in their process.

Step one, appoint Arteta and Edu.
Step 2, get rid of high paid underperforming stars.
Step 3, invest in youth.
Step 4, develop youth, get Zinchenko and Jesus in to bolster abs genuinely challenge for the title.
Step 5, acquire Rice to take to the next level.

Spending 100M for Elliot and Kudus instead of 68M on Eze makes precisely zero sense.

Kudus is an extremely talented player, but I would be very VERY wary of the professionalism concerns around him. The lavish London facilities and *ahem* questionable competitive mandate at Tottenham make us a uniquely high risk environment for that sort of player, imho.
