Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Absolutely. Boehly was a joke until Chelsea started dong OK, then suddenly it's strategy. "Success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan."

They're still doing stupid transfers. Club must be leveraged to the eyeballs
That remains a squad that makes no sense, can't be significantly changed, and a situation extremely vulnerable to a downturn.

The fuckers have had the devil's luck thusfar, and frustratingly people keep paying them good money for their deadwood, but Boehly is a dum dum, that has to make the difference eventually.

Please, Saudis, pleeeeeeeease.

Kudus - £60m and likely favourable terms given W Ham’s plight

Semenyo - £70m plus Bournemouth don’t want to sell

Eze -£60/68m plus hefty annual payments

Kudus from a financial perspective makes sense and it should allow us to have more funds to invest elsewhere.

If you take all emotions and price tags out of it, Kudus does make the most sense for our current build.

- A left-footed right side plays is our biggest need.
- A right sided dribbly player is still a huge need.
- Kudus raises the technical ability of the squad
- He still has untapped potential

Eze is definitely the sexy purchase. Would take him in a heartbeat but our left side is crowded. Semenyo is a nice player, but a far distant third on this list.

It's actually financially insane and disastrous to spend 3/4 as much money on a lesser, riskier player.

Is he a lesser/riskier player? He comes across as a massive bellend for W Ham but talent and end product wise he’s pretty similar to Semenyo. Whereas Eze’s best position is a position we’re already stacked in and his fee needs hefty repayments. For context, Chelsea are paying multiple deals over 7 years whereas Eze would now reportedly be over 3.

I would love us to sign Eze but it won’t fix our left hand side or right hand side issues. We’ll ideally still need a left and right forward which let’s face it, will never happen.

Just out of interest, if anyone can answer this.

Why do internet ITKs like POK tweet out the most uninteresting grasping news about the bowel movements of the kit man, then when someone actually seems to leak something they're like "yeah, old news, heard we bid like 50 bigs ones last week"

So you just kept that to yourself, but totally knew it, oh person who seems so watertight
:frankthink:
Equally strange that people follow these ITKs and believe it

The risk with Kudus is that he has a bit of a temper as far as I can see. I've googled a bit in regards to scandals or controversies and nothing really comes up so that's all that I can land at.

We all remember him fighting with half of our team last season. But tbf Richarlison fought with Romero when at Everton and Brennan kicked Richarlison for juggling a ball when at Forest so it doesn't seem to be much of a no no for us in regards to transfers.

It’s hard to tell whether he’s short tempered or passionate about succeeding. We could say the same about a few of our players, especially in the league last season. It’s quite hard to judge what looks a decent player in either a poor team, one with a poor set up or whether they’re actually naturally hot and cold.

That matters! Decent chance that swamps his ability as a player over the course of his career. That's already the case for his PL career thus far, and honestly may be a significant reason such an exciting player is at West Ham in the first place.

We should of course do our research, maybe he's just a bit misunderstood. But if that's true, why are we the lucky club getting a cut-price deal? This reeks of Levy penny-wise, pound-foolish decision making.

I would love us to sign Eze but it won’t fix our left hand side or right hand side issues. We’ll ideally still need a left and right forward which let’s face it, will never happen.
Again, I don't want to TOTALLY disregard concerns around positional fit and dominant feet and all of that. I just feel strongly that given the choice between "is Kudus a shithead?" or "is Eze going to be out of position?", I am taking the latter concern every day of the week.

And I think that's ESPECIALLY true with Thomas Frank, well documented for both his work with interchanging and flank-swapping with jack-of-all-trades type forwards and his "no wankers" policy.

If I was getting Kudus for 20M or something where I get a huge chunk of money to put towards a 6 or whatever I would be tempted, because Kudus is a top talent. But for vaguely similar money? Easy decision, IMO.

People used to get upset when you called him out on being an 'agent', but it's hardly a good advert for being one when you're on twitter all day every day leaking out supposedly confidential stuff.
There's a skill to leaking info for the benefit of agency, and that isn't it

Chavs surely aren't gonna sign all 4 of Delap, Gittens, Pedro and Kudus? I know Jackson and Mudryk are prob for sale but still, they have more depth than they can figure out what to do with now, I'm not confident as a player signing in Palmer's position either tbh.

I don't think they can sell Mudryk can they? He's banned and atm he has no squad number.

Pogba found it hard to find a club that would sign him, so being a Ukrainian Jason Cundy is going to be another level

In fact Kudus is a very good player also, his value dropped because of West Ham bad run of form, but I think he's a better player than Semenyo and Mbuemo and probably the same level as Eze.
