He always wanted Woolwich IMO. Was just a question of whether they wanted him.

Given what happened the following season It would seem more sensible to view the final 10 games of the first season as the norm, and the purple patches as outliers
Like Chelsea, their owners invest. It’s only sustainable whilst they continue to boost revenue through their own money / investment. We are the complete opposite, do the absolute bare minimum and don’t have any owner or outside investment. Groundhog decadeI think villa could, be heading for financial trouble.
They are operating at around 95% wage to turnover ratio, but generate around half our income.
They have over committed, and spurs have under committed with a 42% one and double the income.
I'm not sure about that.I see Woolwich in for Eze properly now.
Funny that we start leaking that we are backing off Eze, via our usual journalists, then start moving for Kudus, at the exact same time that Woolwich move for him and Eze saying he wants to join them starts coming out.
You don't have to be a detective to think that we actually were in for Eze, but he's told us he favours Woolwich and that is why we've backed off. It's not because we didn't want him, we've been rejected.
So we've now moved down the list, to Kudus.
Or more likely, he wanted to come but we wouldn’t pay the fee and he’s now pissed off and open to othersI see Woolwich in for Eze properly now.

Eze doesn't fit ENIC's M.O. due to his age.
Eze's value will continually depreciate and his wages will be excessive.
Woolwich have probably had to pay more for Eze, in respect of the fee and wages, due to Spurs 'interest' in the player.
Having a Goon director on our team is probably leading to some political moves with the knowledge of their intentions that he has brought with him.
I doubt we were ever serious about buying Eze.
If we really wanted him we would have paid the clause. It seems that we were never seriously after him.We are useless.
We flirt with this guy for literally years, we then assume we can have him when we want and then look confused when someone actually "puts a ring on it".
Say…you’re not moaning about the people who are moaning about the people who are moaning about the clubs transfer business, by any chance are you? Will never understand the people that come on here everyday to moan about people who are moaning about the club's transfer business.
Hilarious.
I do agree that the wages are the real issue.Which is why we are where we are. The lack of ambition is infuriating.
Poch finished 4th and got a CL final. Also got 5th and a league cup final in his first season. No manager has ever done both at Spurs.
Villa missed out on top 4 last year and got beat 3-0 to Crystal Palace in an FA cup semi final! Is that really what we are hoping to become?
We don't do that, mate.If we really wanted him we would have paid the clause. It seems that we were never seriously after him.

Not transfer related but what’s more likely to be true?
This?
Levy winning the PL and CL?
It seems like some deals are being held up by the money clubs keeping negotiations with their second and third choices going. It may be a 10% chance, but seeing negotiations between Man United and Mbeumo taking so long, I still think Spurs could get back in if Man United won't meet Brentford's terms. It seems to come down not to how much Man U will pay, but when. Another interesting rumor about a player Spurs won't pursue, but whose presence in the market could affect a few teams plans is Ollie Watkins. I've got doubts about Eze and Kudos. You have to separate what they look like in individual moments of brilliance from what you can expect them to produce. It's been a frustrating window. Spurs seem like every Premier League player's second or third choice when they decide they want to move.I'm not sure about that.

However;
I'm not really that sure that Eze is the player Spurs need at the moment.
I think baulking at the fee Bournemouth are asking for Semenyo is probably the right call too.
I'm very underwhelmed by the pool of talent available to be honest.
Kudus probably is the best signing Spurs could make at this point.
That says as much about what is available than it does regarding Spurs ambition in my opinion.
Are you saying Kudud is a better player than Eze? Eze adds class and is exactly what we need (amongst others). 65M and his wages don’t seem excessive at allI do agree that the wages are the real issue.

Kudus has a great attitude. It seems like some deals are being held up by the money clubs keeping negotiations with their second and third choices going.
