Okeefe confirmed we already put a bid in for him, rejected.
Think he was being dramatic. There was no official bid. More likely we enquired about Kudus and asked if 50 would be enough to which they said no.

All the BS about Kudus agreeing personal terms is bollix. According to west ham reporters Kudus is keen on joining Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea. Apparently he's also been offered to United in case the Mbeumo deal falls through. I'd regard all that reporting as complete bollix where West Ham are just trying to generate interest and a bidding war. Whether we've got as far as contacting Kudus and agreeing on personal terms, who knows! But certainly wouldn't trust any west ham reporting on it.

Spurs will also be very wary of West Ham. Funnily enough these boards do have their own little rivalries about who gets one over on who. Spurs will not want to overpay for Kudus and will not want to be dragged into a bidding war. West Ham will not want Tottenham to be the only club in the running for Kudus where they'll eventually have to agree to sell him for less than they wanted. Especially to Tottenham. They'll hold out and keep offering him to other top clubs in the hope that someone does hijack us or at least force Levy to overpay.

According to reports, it seems Kudus doesn't care where he goes as long as he gets out of West Ham. Doesn't say much about him does it? But that is how west ham have reported it!

You seem to know a lot, including how much players are getting paid and personal terms etc...

Where are you getting your info from?

Beyond that we have a technical director, we have scouts. We should understand Franks system and style and understand our own players. Brighton have a system of a player or manager leaves they have lists of replacements ready to go. Modern clubs are far more than the manager. I don’t mind a little bit of time but this should be done very quickly.

If we leave all the transfers to the last minutes then we hurt our season as we will have far less time to integrate them. Also it’s pretty obvious we need a RW and DM, we should be able to bring them in before sales, those two positions are where we clearly lack.
Wdf do Lange and co do all year! Surely they must be identifying players all year not just a few when transfer window opens. That’s why I didn’t believe the BS about Solanke. If we really had him under our radar then why wait till very last minute to get him. The selling club can then ask whatever they want. He should have been done first day of transfer window if he was someone they identified. I can’t recall us being for many other CFs last summer.

People seem to forget that largely the same squad finished 5th the season before and should have finished 4th.
Even that tottenham hating jason cunty has said we should be aiming, even with this squad for a European spot MINIMUM
The squad is not good enough. 3 or 4 additions are needed, and of those additions, 2 or 3 need to be able to walk into the team.

That's it.

Whilst 17th was an utter disgrace, this squad, like many in the PL lacks a match winner of real note.

We need 2 or 3 players and anyone who thinks different knows very little about footballl or is off the optimism scale

The club got scared off Nusa by fucking Brentford, even if he never signed for them in the end. The club actively runs from bidding wars; if you see us and another club seriously linked then you already know we won’t get him.

Nusa failed a medical at the time iirc....if he was fit and we really wanted him then he would have chosen Spurs over Brentford

The club is not scared of bidding wars, just recently we competed with Bayern and Barca for Dragusin and Bergval.

Of course any new signing has to fit into the wage structure here. That's just the way it is

I know......it was my piss poor attempt at a joke......🤷‍♂️
I can never tell with you :roflmao:

We absolutely need to upgrade, but that applies every season.
Standing still is going backwards.
But we're not as far off 4th to 6th as some like to push. Most of them are Angefans who can't cope with the fact it was largely his fault we were so bad

I'm surprised that Bakayoko lad at PSV is not being linked, not just with us but with other clubs too. Seemed to be a hot prospect a year or two ago

This would be a fantastic signing.

Strongly linked to Liverpool but they opted for Kerkez in the end.

We should definitely sign him.

On Kudus btw, I think he would be an excellent signing.

The season before last, he was one of the best in the league. He looked phenomenal, and I couldn't believe we fucked up so much by not signing him. Last season he wasn't as good granted, but no reason he can't get back to those levels of before and if he does, he's one of the best in the league.
