Much for muchness. Appreciate we'll all have a different opinion. Some people want us to sell Kulusevski. I'd have him starting for most teams in the league! Game of opinion
I dont think newcastle and villa should be graded so high imo. They just had a better coaches. We missed a trick not getting tielemens on a free particularly when maddison joined us. Would have been a good partnership and familiarity.

You lost me at comparisons.

Newcastle do have some very good players. Isak, Gordon, Tonali, Bruno are fantastic while Livermento is quality. They need 3-4 players of that level to push on and fight with Woolwich for 3rd best team. Villa I can see the argument a bit for overperforming.

We need a top striker?? Any ideas who you'd like?

I think we need a versatile winger (kudus, eze, mbeumo), an experienced CDM and another left back! A striker is not on my radar. I'd be happy for us to keep richarlison as back up to solanke.
Me personally im not 100 per cent sold on solanke. Was a bit injury prone as well. Another striker provides healthy competition and as levy says he wants us to challenge on all fronts. Totally agree on that.

Funnily enough i was starting to get the 2018 vibes the last couple of days. Where days and weeks go by with bog all going on. 6 weeks since our last game of the season, no one out and no one of substance in. Even rumours, bar Kudus, are minimal to non existant. Still plenty of time of course but if we're still here in 10/14 days i suspect it will be blind panic internally and certainly amongst the fanbase.

Can imagine levy seeing Liverpool making no meaningful signings last season and winning the league as something Frank should achieve with us!

Solanke 3rd highest no of minutes played last season. Not injury prone was he ?

1 Porro - 4,133 mins (45 games equivalent)
2 Kulusevski - 3,452 (38)
3 Solanke - 3,389 (38)
4 Johnson - 3,315 (37)

Solanke, Maddison, Kulusevski, Johnson and Son all 5 about equal in goals/assists all with 20+. Solanle's pressing key for Spurs. Sharing the goals/assists absolutely essential for Spurs and worked well - no reliance upon any one player

Richarlison was the alternate striker last season- he only managed 842 minutes in 24th place. Hence our reliance upon others to fill the gap. He's the one everyone agrees neds to go if we get a half decent fee to help us buy his replacement

But the point you made was that he's had to cope with replacing core players repeatedly. That was true in the Championship, but since joining the PL they've relentlessly added more more more with Raya and Toney the only counterbalancing sales of key players.
...and Eriksen. (replacing players is not just those that brought in a fee..). Raya left a season before Toney, when Toney then got banned for half a season. I think it was only the first season they didn't lose anyone important

Oh he’s Belgian ? lol

That would be why he’s not on the France u21 squad. Fucked that up then,

Fofana or Doku if you had to choose?
Man, two French central defenders play for Spain these days...that's after they had that Brazilian cunt from Chelsea as their CF for years. Seem to also remember that the Qatar and Japan teams from recent past were full of Brazilians and whatnot. And a lad called Fofana usually is someone who you see play for Les Bleus.

Fofana or Doku? Neither to be honest. The former is young & unproven...we've already got one of those upfront. And the latter I never liked or rated that highly. If it was up to me, we'd be going after Nico Williams, Bowen, Barcola, Mbeumo, Diaz, Rodrygo, Raphinha...the gamechangers we were promised thanks to the new stadium.

My daughter works in animation. I've been subjected to animé for years now, from Howl's Moving Castle to the latest K-Pop Demon Hunters. Having said that, I was a Battle of the Planets and Ulysses fan when I was a kid.

Some stuff I've liked, like Full Metal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop, some I've found mind numbingly boring, like most of the Studio Gibli films.

I couldn't get into the Gundam ones though.

Yeah no arguments from me on that list. Except maybe Raphinha. I know he had an incredible season but I suspect it was a freak year and he will be back to being predictable and not that productive this year

We should repurpose this thread as a Battle of the Planets discussion. More interesting and will have just as much impact on Spurs!
