He did nothing to impress even when healthy really. I think he was meant to paper over the Richarlison gaffe and became one himself

He's never in the right place. And if it wasn't for his pressing, he's a 30m rotation player. He's good. He's not great. He's not going to turn into a prolific beast.Hopefully he will, now that he’s not (pointlessly) running himself into the ground chasing shadows in Ange’s farkakteh system.
Oh he’s Belgian ? lol
That would be why he’s not on the France u21 squad. Fucked that up then,
Fofana or Doku if you had to choose?
He'd probably be more accurate than Bobby soldier.I’’m not a farmer so could easily be wrong , but I’m assuming you don’t want to hit a barn door with your tractor
Unless you’re that prick Jeremy Clarkson
NahVery pissed now , really heavy lunch .
Is there anything positive being rumoured
To each their own Bruv.
He's scored 38 goals in 161 Premier League appearances. it's about 9 goals per season, just like last season 9 Premier League goals. But because he's joined Spurs he's great, he's a Europa League cup winner, absolutely fantastic player!!He's never in the right place. And if it wasn't for his pressing, he's a 30m rotation player. He's good. He's not great. He's not going to turn into a prolific beast.
Kulusevski isn't underrated at all, overrated if anythingThanks for posting them numbers. I'd argue that the 4 players on that list are our 4 most underrated players. They get no credit for their durability at all. Instead people will focus in their tired performances during a difficult run. Kulusevski is a good recent example. Phenomenal up until November until we picked up 10+ injuries and couldn't rest him throughout the entire festive period. His form totally fell off then yet people on here now judge him as that player who was clumsily giving the ball away in January. Not the player who was unplayable in October.
Same with Porro! All his best performances for us came after he got a rest! There is probably still people on here who think Spence is better!
I suppose it depends on which company you go to for the stats and how they score the expected assists. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. The point I'm making though is that Bowen is seen as elite on here by some, when he's not really performing at an elite level if he's only marginally ahead of our own winger, who has been pilloried on here since he first joined.Johnson had 2.9 xA last season to Bowen’s 7.63, a huge difference.
Maybe. Don't get me wrong, I think Bowen is a very good player, I'm just trying to bring some perspective here. If he is this "elite" player that many claim him to be, stating that we should be dropping a cool £80M to get him, then why were these same people complaining about BJ' s price, which was half of that, when we're getting almost the same productivity? Don't you at least see the disparity in that thinking? And Bowen exceeded xG by 3 whereas Johnson matched xG because Bowen was adding value with his goals by mixing it up with shots outside of 15 yards..
He can, now he's matured somewhat. Johnson still has a way to go before we can truly compare like for like, as Bowen has 3 seasons of top flight on him. Bowen's start wasn't particularly scintillating, and he had a poor third season after a good second.Johnson did better creative wise the season before but only scored 5 league goals .. Bowen can do both elements and does so consistently while being a hugely more impactful player on the ball.
You'd expect him to have less touches in the opposition box when playing as a striker? Really?FBref comparison has Bowen in much higher percentiles for progressive carries, take ons, touches in opposition box etc.. this despite playing large parts of a season as a striker because West Ham didn’t have one so you’d expect him to be less involved.
Sorry, whilst I agree he's a better dribbler and creator, "monumentally clear?" We'll have to agree to disagree there. Better yes, monumentally no.Brennan doesn’t match or better Bowen in anything other than off the ball movement.. he’s a worse striker of the ball, a worse dribbler, less creative on the ball.. I’ll accept the defensive gap might not be as big as thought but at every element of being a dangerous wide player Bowen is monumentally clear.
No you wouldn't as they play in different leagues. Bowen and BJ are comparable for precisely the reason that they play in the same league.Stats aren’t even needed here. Anyone can see the gap with their eyes. You may as well say Yamals stats are comparable.
Eh, I mean Eriksen only made 11 grand total all comps appearances for them on a six-month deal. That he was brought in in the first place speaks to the way the operation has always been adding to that squad since joining the PL....and Eriksen. (replacing players is not just those that brought in a fee..). Raya left a season before Toney, when Toney then got banned for half a season. I think it was only the first season they didn't lose anyone important
Their best players during their first PL season were, in some order, Toney, Wissa, Mbuemo, Norgaard, Janelt, Ajer and Raya. He's been keeping Brentford up on the lowest budget in the league whilst losing their best players regularly for several years now
Agree on Raphina - we’ve got Tel and Odobert so doubt he would make the bench, let alone start for usYeah no arguments from me on that list. Except maybe Raphinha. I know he had an incredible season but I suspect it was a freak year and he will be back to being predictable and not that productive this year
And a 2nd cheese room ?
That’s really great choice. So many havecsaidvifcwecstart the season with a front 3 of tel Solanke and Johnson we are fucked. Even though that lot cost nearly £150M yet we still look poor in those positions. All 3 Ange signings btw. He truly fucked us with those signings and money spent. Not sure that RW is as desperate a situation as some make out. Johnson, Kulusevski, Odobert or even Tel.
If Sonny and Richy leave we will have Tel, Odobert, Moore on LW. Tel might even take Richy's spot at 2nd striker meaning LW is a gap to fill.
I would
