Kane got paid more

If we had a more competitive wage structure, he could have achieved his career ambitions with us.

Don’t get cute, you know why players have to leave to further their ambitions and you also know why we don’t sign players that make it possible to achieve those ambitions with us.

Says the man who got called out for a bullshit claim and has now revised it to mean something completely different.

Not being cute. I find that impossible to be frank. You said that players would leave when they ask for wages outside of our structure. I can’t recall that ever happening.

Kane had given us his best for years and wanted to go elsewhere to win, granted. Moved to a huge club. Maybe, if we had paid him £300k a week, whilst supporting him with a dozen other players on £250k a week, that cost £80m each, we may have been able to support his ambitions.

Modric and Bale? Fuck, I love our club, but even my head would turn at Real Madrid giving me a call.

Berbatov? Carrick? Joined the biggest club in the world at that point. Again, pretty head turning. More money certainly, but not the motivation.

No matter what we pay our players, we won’t have the power to stop them going to bigger clubs. And there will always be bigger clubs.

Tel will likely get most minutes between the 2 of them, but I think Sonny will still have a lot to offer in a much more limited role.
9 league assists isnt bad considering the performance of the team in the league, just 1 less than world class golden boy Saka and Player of the year nominee Fernandes .
There's still real quality there that hopefully frank can exploit

Son staying really isn’t the issue.

The issue is that we won’t sign anyone on top wages for the forward positions until he’s off the wage bill.

It’s about Levy, not the club legend Sonny.

Brighton’s young striker Georginio Rutter, who had an impressive first season at the Amex Stadium last term, has posted a very interesting picture of himself on social media donning a Tottenham kit

Thomas Frank is said to be happy with the squad he’s seen in training and doesn’t feel wholesale changes will be required.

Son and tel again great

I was saying that we have sufficient cover on the left, and need a predominantly right sided player such as Kudos.

Odobert, Son, Moore, Tel and you want to add Eze.

Thank fuck Frank is managing the team and not you.

Wanna bring Werner back on loan?

We have the numbers on the left and the right wing but it all about quality. There are questions marks about all the players you mentioned plus Johnson and Deki (on the right)

With minimal expectations i didnt believe even this mob would be daft enough to keep a squad that finished 17th together. Guess we should have known when they gave Davies that years extension.

Starting to think at best now its Kudus and a 6 but only if we sell Bissouma. We have a huge squad and increasingly clear we're struggling to shift any of them.
Frank is going to level them all up to their maximum potential, and then they'll be the bestest ever.

Ok, so imo you were being cute about the way I worded it, instead of engaging honestly about the issue.

We don’t pay the wages to build squads to compete regularly for the biggest trophies. Even if a Kane develops into a top wage player, we don’t surround them with more like them so they feel they can stay and win.

And that’s a fair point. As was the rest of your original post.

I’m just always seeing perfectly relevant things being posted about the club, owners, players, etc that are then spoiled by some outlandish claim. There’s too much wrong right now to need to resort to saying that we have or will sell players when they ask for more money.

What The Hell Wtf GIF
In my defense, it was very late and I was quite drunk. 😎

Bollocks.

A lie is a lie..... You can't help yourself but throw in a dose of your own fan fiction to jazz up any point you're trying to make.

Fair enough mate.

The way I worded it left a bit too be desired.

Other than that we are on the same page here

We have to do what Sonny wants since he is legend. He wants to stay, we need to accept that.

But i really hoped he would decide to leave. Would be beneficial for all parties I believe for various reasons.
