Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The thing that I can’t get my head round is that it appears that we can only work on one transfer at a time. There are five people who can work on them if you count Lange, Paratici, Gabbanini, Vinai, Levy., yet everything else seems on hold while this Kudus deal is thrashed out and then I guess we’ll turn to a No 6.
Lange has shown before he doesn't like what's happening behind closed doors to leak out. You can bet your last dollar they are at full pelt on a load of deals, some will work some won't. But just because you're not hearing it doesn't mean it's not happening. And just as you're not hearing what's happening, it still might not happen and you'll never know what was happening that didn't happen!😂

Jesus who has scored more goals than Richarlison and cost 20 million less and Havertz, a converted midfielder who has scored 22 goals in 2 seasons is hardly the same level of fuckwittery as spaffing 120 million on Richarlison and Solanke ffs.
FFS why do people not get this still. You think Jesus has worked out cheaper than Richarlison? Really? Let me break this down for you.

Jesus earns 3 times the Salary of Richarlison. I just fact checked it there and Jesus gets paid 9.1 million more than Richarlison every year. After 3 full seasons that is over 27m more on wages!

This also has a total knock on effect as nobody in the world wants to buy Jesus on 265k a week while Richarlison is wanted by loads of club as 90k a week is very reasonably. So we will probably get a decent fee for Richarlison when we do finally sell him. Woolwich will have to let Jesus go for free or run down that contract.

Jesus will end up costing them way way more than Richarlsion cost us.

Not for a second saying Jesus is worth that kind of money.
Nor am I claiming we spend a lot.

Just because Richarlison isn’t on 200k plus doesn’t mean we didn’t grossly overpay for him. He was never a distant relation of a 60 million player.

His fee is smoke and mirrors at best.
Wages really do change clubs spend considerably. Arse paid more for Jesus overall and, they have had a better return on that investment.

Firstly, thanks, Tom, for the considered, measured reply. You seem like such a lovely fella.

Not 100% sure you're right about Jesus vs Richarlison - I'm sure you did your research first - of course...... but perhaps a lesson in counting might help. Do they still air Sesame Street?

Also, Jesus was 45 million with add-ons. Richarlison was 50-plus add-ons.

As for Haavertz, he isn't really a converted midfielder; he is a midfielder used poorly as a striker because they haven't bought an actual striker for 3 years- which is the whole fucking point I'm trying to make, so if you are somehow intimating that Woolwich spending what they did on Kai Havertz for a whopping return on 11 goals in a single season in what is apparently their best team under their incredible manager is somehow testamanet to how incredibly well run they are then i have no idea what you are on about

Havertz is on nearly 300k a week too

should go all out and try and sign Osimhen. Not just because Man U fans are desperate to sign him so it'd be a double whammy after beating them in the Europa final but he is class (only off putting thing about it is his weird loan move to small club Galatasaray)

I mean.

TomHotspur TomHotspur just hates the owners so any place he can inject some of that pent up teenage angst into a discussion im sure he can't help himself.

I just find it weird when people use Woolwich as a yard stick - a team that have spent millions on millions to stand still, not improve their squad at all and win not a single thing.

They won the FA Cup.
They have challenged for the title (to a degree) in the last 3 seasons.
They have moved ahead of us in leaps and bounds on the pitch. We won the Europa League because we were in it, they weren't and nobody else was anywhere near as good as them either.

It's fine to hate them, but let's not pretend their spending hasn't led to them improving whilst our wage trimming has seen us decline.

I wasnt that bothered by the Kudus link but the more I watch his goals the more I think we are trying to recreate Mbuemo's role at Brentford with him in mind. I think he will play from the left but we will also use him up top in a two in a 352 if and when we play that. His goals are similar.

I might be wrong but I think he prefers the right but Bowen plays there. Appears to be very versatile playing RW, LW, Striker or off the striker. We have almost no players like that, maybe Odobert and Richarlison who can play multiple positions but even they seem like they have a very preferred role.

If people think any trophy is the yard stick then really, what we need to do is deliberately aim to finish in the conference league spot. Then go all out to win that the following season.
Then go all out to win the Europa league the season after.
Then aim to finish back in the conference league spot to win that because we're nowhere near good enough to win the CL.
So that way, we could win back to back Ropey/Conference leagues, then have a year off silver wear, then rinse and repeat. All whilst being bang average at PL and domestic football.

You mean off the right?

Can definitely see him also in that second striker role.

Feel like he could do a Dembele type job at CM as well but I won’t go there yet

I wish I was still a teenager mate.

If I was, I wouldn’t have so much pent up anger against the ownership.

Kudus likes to shoot on sight not try to play around for a better shooting position. Love it.

Richy and Solanke are better than any striker they have

Solanke will score more than Gyokeres this season and the one after.

Woolwich’s best player last season was a rapist.

Zubimendi will struggle with the pace and physicality.

Saka will eventually be a LWB like Ashley Young because they overused him too early and burnt his body out

Martinelli wouldn’t even be a good cocktail

They are shit

And you can fuck off
There are pills available over the counter at a good pharmacy

The fact your including Bissouma in there defeats your argument straight away. Consistency is the name of the game and he drops off every season. He has more bad games than good games every season. You can't just keep hoping he'll find consistency. This will be his 4th season. Sell him and buy someone else! Can't let another season fall off because of Bissouma

He was an extremely tentative inclusion, overall I’d be happy for him to move on and for us to get in a more consistent midfielder.

All this bo!!ocks about Afsenal makes me laugh. Some of it is really sh!t. The rest pretty much garbage

They are 2 levels above us, at least.

They will have soon bought 4 players, whilst we have Takei, whoever he is, and are chasing some player, none of the actual big teams are interested in, and that will take all summer

Kudus seems to get a lot of hate on here and I’m pretty sure it’s a Spammers thing. He’s a brilliant player and in the right environment with a new challenge he could be clsss for us. He’s got more in his locker than any of our front players. He fits the bill of a Tottenham player for me. He loves to go by people wide or centrally, will shoot, can score spectacular goals and is basically an off the cuff type. We have seen straight line players who bore the fuck out of me.

Yes Kudus didn’t have a great season last season but he was playing in an awful West Ham side. My only issue with it is he will be going to Afcon in December.
No he won't

They are a bit like us under Poch to a certain extent, in the fact they they are up there and challenging but as yet haven't won anything yet (excluding the FA cup in the 1st season) , the only difference , apart from us not employing rapists is that Arteta has been backed massively and Poch wasn't , surely questions need to start being asked of him if they go another season winning fuck all?
