Some of our midfield problems was down to the system imo. The 6 was left massively exposed at times last season
I know it's not fashionable to say around here but I don't actually think a double pivot with our existing options of Sarr/Bergvall/Bentancur/Bissouma is a particularly bad set of midfielders to choose from in a traditional double pivot setup.
As you say, none of them could handle the 6 in an Ange system but even Rodri would struggle in that shit show.

France have won more world cups and european championships than us. Weve caught up if not overtaken them though in producing better younger players coming through. Likely down to more continental play now in premier league. I just dont like the idea of the word palace when its not. Not really a countdown fan but palace in the dictionary means splendid building. Selhurst park isnt.
Yeah but they have Macron, revolutions, ghettos and many other downsides.

Fuck em.

There’s no doubt Kudus is an exceptional talent. He’s also clearly committed- he could have taken higher wages in Saudi or waited for Chelsea but prioritised us which forced West Ham’s hand.

The only question mark is his mentality, but I trust Frank.
He seems to be a player that likes playing big games as well based on comments on reddit. We've lacked that in attack for a bit.

Wings sorted with kudus and Tel.
Just leaves a quality defensive minded midfielder and a LB

We probably have 2 too many cbs also
Robinson is the dream at left back.

CM I haven't a clue. Warming to the idea of going back in for Gallagher. He doesn't solve our CDM problem but think his presence in the midfield would be huge for us. Can't see us signing Baleba /Wharton and nobody else feels like a huge upgrade. Palinha/Luiz are the short term solutions but its debatable if their best days are behind them and if they are then are we just removing one problem in Bissouma and replacing him with another problem? I'm not convinced. Gallagher could be the safe bet and play Bentancur/Bergval deep beside him.

Hoping Kudus gets completed and Levy does not think I can get away with the bare minimum. Hopefully a couple more key positions get covered with experienced quality . I will then have some custard with my humble pie , but we need two more in my view .

Caveat : We don’t weaken by selling our best players , and the list isn’t long
