Wissa for 50 mill is mad, we won't pay that much imo

Similar to the crazy 40 mill they wanted for Raya who also had a year left on his contract. We walked away and signed Vic instead for 19

29 in a few weeks time, 11 months left on his Brentford contract
Weird seeing as one of the reasons we seemed not to want to persist with Eze was his age...
Kudus being 2-3 years younger made sense... But Eze is 2 years younger than Wissa, so I don't understand the logic there... Unless we're just gonna buy EVERYONE!

As well as Kudus?

They are very different players. If it’s Kudus or Wissa then scattergun doesn’t do it justice

If it’s Wissa as well as Kudus then Richy is gone and it makes sense.

Would likely fuck up UTD getting Mbeumo as well
As WELL as I'd imagine.
Kudus + Wissa definitely feels like a plan B if we're not getting Eze + Mbeulo...

Eze is 27 and may be past his best already. He is definitely not as quick as he once was. Have no problem with Kudus over Eze.

2-3 years ago I was on the Eze train, but its left the station.

Eze is kind of a Zaha regen. Mostly ignored by England because he's at palace, and development stalled for the same kind of reasons. Next thing you know, he's on the cusp of 30 but being spoken about like he's still 22.

People can poke at us for Kane being here so long, but at least he was playing at the top level and in finals. I know Eze has just won an FA Cup, which differs to Kane of course, but he should have been playing in the CL years ago. If he doesn't get a move this summer I doubt anyone CL will be interested unless it is a free/HG type situation

Absolutely. No way we sign Kudus if West Ham aren't in the shit financially. Textbook Levy transfer strategy.
Does it occur to you that Frank wants a certain type of right winger….Mbeumo was allegedly first choice but doesn’t want us. Probably Kudus is his second choice so why blame Levy? Both can play right and centre, with Kudus even more adaptable as regards his position. The way he played the season before last I bet most fans would have eagerly wanted him.him

Hoping Kudus gets completed and Levy does not think I can get away with the bare minimum. Hopefully a couple more key positions get covered with experienced quality . I will then have some custard with my humble pie , but we need two more in my view .

Caveat : We don’t weaken by selling our best players , and the list isn’t long

Which positions would you like to see strengthened?

Different needs/requirements for different positions. Our LW is over-staffed currently, so buying Eze probably only makes sense if we can shift some others. Son is almost certainly staying another season, and he was better last season than many say.

At ACM, he's barely younger than Maddison and I've compared them at lengths - he's not a huge improvement, if indeed any improvement at all.

I'm also not really sure how interested in Eze we, or anyone else, are. He's been "linked" to every big English clubs for over a year now and there's been no real evidence of actual activity. Feels very forced, like his agent is chatting shit trying to gin something up.

At DM, the plan seems to still be firmly Gray long term - but we need someone in the here and now for him to understudy. An older option here makes sense.

A centre forward would be nice and dependant on Romero, might need an improvement at right centrebacks.Too many centrebacks, that’s ok as Frank often plays three at the back.
If Romero stays there’s a very good chance we do nothing except maybe sell Ben Davies and Son. I’m sure Frank would like to get a good look at Bissouma before sanctioning a sale, too. If a save could be made there that’d be amazing for us, and I’ve good reason to believe that it could.

We are dying right now but as soon as Frank knows what he wants to do I expect we’ll see a flurry of activity playing our usual catchup. Good news is thanks to Frank foresight this is hopefully the last catchup we have to do for awhile…
