Fluid is one thing, natural tendencies to defending is another

I mean Bentancur is our defacto DM, and he isnt even a DM...

Thats more my point really, the mix of attributes isnt right IMO

That said, loving the depth and it should mean we can take all competitions seriously

As above, I think its more about mix of skill sets.

Maybe Franks expected coaching upgrade over last season can accommodate, but if we play a midfield 3 of (say) Bentancur, Maddison, Gibbs-White - they will have to be incredibly disciplined, press on point, and play against their natural instincts to a degree to make sure we are defensively sound

We could play 352 with a very attacking midfield of Maddison - Bentancur - Good ole gibbsy

Vicario
Romero - Danso - Micky
Porro - Gibbs-White - Bentancur - Maddison - Udogie
Johnson - Solanke

Anymore of those 'here we go' announcements, Daniel?
Brilliant

I think it certainly is an option and one it feels like we are squad-building to accomodate. I like the thought of pushing Porro and Udogie upfield a bit and relieving a bit of their defensive requirement (not entirely), which is a weaker part of both's game. You can also put Kudus in either of the AM or up front roles in that formation as well.

And the thought of Porro being encouraged to put crosses in for Dom seems an intelligent way to go about things as well.

These potential line-ups are great, but I just think we need a number 6. Bentancur is not the one.

Wharton and Robinson would be the dream end to the window for me. I appreciate Wharton is unlikely unless we really do have a cash injection.

You couldn't find two more different - but complimentary - CM's than Wharton and Baleba.

Wharton is a footballer with exceptional passing ability, but athletically he is extremely challenged. Baleba is the reverse, he's an animal, outstanding athletically, defensively a total busy cunt but creatively much more ordinary, but very competent.

They would almost be the perfect complimentary double pivot.

I get why coaches would be interested in Wharton, especially a more transitional style (nice way of saying bus parky) of play coach like Frank, who would use him to turn defence into attack expediently, but he would leave you defensively compromised on days when you are dominating the possession or territory and you couldn't rely on him to hold an attacking structure together.

Personally I'd love Baleba, he's an exemplary busy cunt and I think any team would benefit from having him. I'm really surprised nobody's gone in for him already.

Can you add Hackney to that diagram?

With so many progressive midfielders now, we need a Baleba type player and not Wharton IMO

What I do find funny though is that all of a sudden people have stopped whinging about the (allegedly all important) wage bill.

Prejudice lol. Your fucking full time obsession with other people in a misguided defence of Enic is so transparent not sure why you even deny it. No ones as boring as you. Its fucking weird. Your talking about wage bills you fucking simp talk about the actual football. Bookkeeping again bookkeeping again one ole ole!

How can I put put this..... YOU'RE obsessed.

...and utterly deluded if you claim I haven't been talking about football all damn day.

Fuck off.
