Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

After much research and investigation I’ve uncovered Maranakis’ negotiation plan:

Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

We are currently in between Anger and Bargaining. Personally I’m looking forward to the Depression stage.

You'd like to think we are busy working on other targets / outgoings whilst this MGW saga rumbles on for god knows how long.......

Tottenham rival Inter Milan for 'the next Vincent Kompany'
Tottenham Hotspur are rivalling Inter Milan to sign Belgian defender Koni De Winter, the man seen as the next Vincent Kompany.

The i Paper has been told there has been contact between De Winter’s club Genoa and Spurs, and that the Italian side would be willing to accept just £22m for the international centre-back.

Bournemouth are also understood to be targeting the 23-year-old as they look to replace Dean Huijsen, who left for Real Madrid last month.

No bids have been lodged with Genoa as yet, but talks are ongoing.

The issue Spurs have is Champions League finalists Inter are further along in their negotiations with Genoa, with De Winter happy to stay in Italy, where he has spent the majority of his career to date.

Centre back who can play both ,LB and RB. Would appear to be a sensible move.

Currently expected a deal of around 23m - but as he plays for Genoa I wonder if Genoa would like Dragusin back .... in place of cash. Might suit Genoa too.

Other complications could be 777 still own Genoa or at least whoever is appointed as liquidator for 777 group !

We were forced to do that with Bale and Modric. I'm not convinced we were in a better position after that. Wouldn't we have had a better 2016 with those two still around?

I get what you mean.
But few things are different. Our recruitment recently has improved (yes-yes, I know, not all of the deals have been super-hits but overall success ratio). And other thing is - Bale and Modric were very important players that consistently performed on incredibly high levels.

Same cannot be said about Romero, so the loss would not be anywhere near comparable.
Bale was by large distance our best player in his last season. He was in fact whole league MVP. Modric was heartbeat of our midfield. Romero was not even our best defender, let alone player in last season.

No one would not and will not even remember to miss him once he is gone, so... yea. Pretty different.

You're projecting what you want to happen, not what will happen.

PSG aren't chasing Romero, no-one is so everything else is irrelevant, until an actual solid concrete offer comes in for him all this talk is moot.
Yea, well, ofc I am talking about idea/speculation.
I was under the impression that this thread is for that, not for purely sharing certified facts, isn't it so.

It is in fact very possible that no one will come in for high bid for him this summer and that he stays.

It is but the Romero chat is so reductive and boring, can't be arsed to talk about it anymore.

The way I'm seeing it is that he's staying for now.
