When Solomon was 19 yo how many good performances did he have under his belt exactly :) ?
According to my knowledge he was lightyears away from EPL level back then. But you don't really want to compare comparable, do you?

Gray clearly is not a fullback. It takes our previous-manager-level-idiot to put a player with his first few steps acceleration to a most physically demanding position. Hardly Grays fault.
Gray as CB - in that sense, time might tell. Pretty much no one is good EPL level CB. And again, with high line and his first steps pace, he was set up to fail and hardly his fault.
In midfield, I do not think he ever got a real chance, due to being played on positions he is not suited to.

Solomon did not do well in the PL at 19 - mainly because he was playing in another league at the time. He has done pretty well everywhere he has been..
.
Look at it like this.
Who would we get the higher fee for now?
Solomon- Imo.
Who would pay £40 m for Gray?
Many clubs would pay £30m or more for Solomon

This does not mean things might change in the future.
The evidence today favours Solomon

Good thing we didn't offer Gray a 1 year contract then isn't it.

No it still does not. Solomon is prime aged player (!) you are comparing him to extremely young player, who despite it has earned significantly more playing time in EPL (!)

Also Archie has market value of 38 million and Manor market value of 14 million.
Which are both quite realistic in my view. We would very clearly get more for Gray, at least twice what we could dream of getting from sales of Solomon.

Cause potential has big part in players values.
All you have is your subjective "But I like him better" argument.

Solomon is obviously ahead of Gray ito development. He will reach his peak in a few seasons and then after another few season he will start to decline. Gray should reach his prime at that point, so there's logic to keeping both; unless Gray fulfils his potential ahead of schedule and replace Solomon; or Gray does a Marcus Edwards and gets shipped off.

Get rid of Gray, at a loss, obviously, when he becomes Edwards the 2nd, not now.

Heads up.... This is some inane shit you're peddling right here.

P.S. willing to make a £30 (*) choose-your-charity bet with you that we don't get £30m when Solomon is sold.

Blimey Goat have a wank mate , you really need to relax in a gentleman’s way

I'm all for agreeing that Ben shouldn't be a starting player. I get that, and that's obvious.

But he HAS been a tremendous servant for the club, is no doubt good to have around the younger players, and it is immensely disrespectful for some bellend to suggest he shouldn't even be 'waterboy'.

Numpties like that need to be told. And he has been.

What is 'doing a Marcus Edwards'? He was an academy player that only played 15 minutes for the first team (while 5-0 up against a league one side) before leaving...

Ben is limited and a bit past his best , but he is a loyal and model professional. He does deserve respect I agree
