Not least because they are wishy-washy with how it is calculated, because the vast majority of the fees are paid and amortised over contract lengths, so each seasons "transfer" is not really accurate to a 3 year period of accounting.

Of course 'net spend' was a massively important figure when it was bias against the club, and kind of isn't brought up much now for the opposite reason (we've moved onto salary vs revenue these days...)

Also allows for amortization. So when people quote 100% of the transfer fee, that's wrong.
It's what you pay in that financial year. That's why Chelsea started putting players on 99 year contracts and why it quickly got shut down.

Really like hjulmund. His game would transfer lovely into the prem. He is a big strong athlete and brave on the pitch. Not the most fancy of players on the eye but he is a warrior. Hjulmund and gibbs white would elevate us ridiculously. Hjulmund is more in the baleba mould that Wharton.

I always feel that teams like pool, Woolwich, chelsea and Newcastle can tend to run through us abit with there power but someone like hjulmund would certainly help put a stop to that.
Really don't want paulhinha I think although experienced he just won't have the legs anymore. I hope he is the last option on a fairly long list.

Wharton would cost more than 80m surely? Id be very surprised if that's the price.

Wharton (worry about his defensive game)
Hjulmund (best fit imo and good price)



Paulinha (long long way behind the other 3, but to be expected at age and price)

There's no middle ground here...... Either use superficial info like TFM or forensically drill the company accounts (and virtually no-one has the required appetite - or insight for the latter).

I'll say it right here......... If Hjulmund is deemed to be 'that guy' (and he certainly sounds more suitable than the fanciful idea of a MF comprised solely of 'ballers'); then I couldn't give a toss about his choice of tattoos.

I agree. We need some steel in there to allow the attackers to flourish. Our defensive setup needs vast improvement and sniffing out attacks and winning the ball in the middle of the pitch will help that.
As for the tattoo, it is what it is. Who knows, we may even be able to negotiate a cover up tattoo, what a 'behind the scenes' video that would make!
