Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Really like hjulmund. His game would transfer lovely into the prem. He is a big strong athlete and brave on the pitch. Not the most fancy of players on the eye but he is a warrior. Hjulmund and gibbs white would elevate us ridiculously. Hjulmund is more in the baleba mould that Wharton.

I always feel that teams like pool, Woolwich, chelsea and Newcastle can tend to run through us abit with there power but someone like hjulmund would certainly help put a stop to that.
Really don't want paulhinha I think although experienced he just won't have the legs anymore. I hope he is the last option on a fairly long list.

Wharton would cost more than 80m surely? Id be very surprised if that's the price.

I think if I could choose id go...

Baleba (not been linked, prob cost the most)
Wharton (worry about his defensive game)
Hjulmund (best fit imo and good price)

Paulinha (long long way behind the other 3, but to be expected at age and price)

Wait.
WTF.

Palinha is exactly what we need.
Very well proven in EPL. I was impressed by him always we had to play against him.
Has some experience already.

And would come at reasonable cost.

We absolutely should not just make up team of 18-24 yearolds.

I do wonder if right goes so we look for another 9 or just go with tel, son etc as a back up.

Don’t love that idea. Imagine we got 40+ for Richy then went for Sesko

What are the odds on Richy picking up an injury during pre season which then prevents a transfer

Tbh if Frank had somehow made up his made to move him on then it's best to not play him

I think there's a mechanism where in any transfer, previous clubs that developed the player get a % of the fee, but it's miniscule.
yeah, that's a solidarity contribution, we would probably get about 1.5% from that if City sell him in the future but you can also get a sell-on % agreed as part of the compensation either between clubs or through the compensation committee.

Good to see reports suggest we’re still looking at a 6 and a striker.

If the summer was - kudus, MGW, Wissa, DM (?) and a lb I’d be pretty satisfied

Obv who the DM in particular is could vary wildly

Wissa??? Why???

£50m on a bloke who turns 29 in September for a position where we are stacked.

Let Newcastle pay through the nose for him.

Lump an extra £30m on top and get decking Wharton in

Yep 50 is too much .....id be looking at 30-35 mill

Wharton will be an option only if the rumours about extra investment are true, even then Palace might be demanding 80-100 mill

Oh please!

He disrespected his club with the Rashford shirt nonsense, made the final loss all about him not starting etc.

He thinks he’s Billy Big Bollocks and hasn’t really accomplished anything in the game to substantiate the high opinion he has of himself.

I wouldn’t touch him with a 100m barge pole!

That's all true, but that's arguably youthful exuberance.

I like the bloke's edge, and I think in the right hands he could be a very good asset for someone.

At a fair price, he would represent good value, in my opinion.

I have said it previously, glad when he didn't start in the final, and concerned when he came on, and I'd rather a player snipe at not playing than sit there contentedly picking up his wages, especially when the team you are playing for is performing so poorly.

I think United will have done very well if they find better.

In saying all that, and unless he is a striker, he would not be a priority signing, unless we are moving on Kulusevski or Johnson, which we won't be doing.

It all comes down to context, timing and how you go about it!

He fails all counts IMHO! Not a team player in my book.

I also think there are more pressing needs than yet another winger, and an average one at that!
