Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our rivals aren't Liverpool, Chelsea, Woolwich and City, but your point is correct in that the Gibbs-White saga is boring.

Our rivals- United, Villa, Newcastle, haven't done too much as yet in truth.

yeah i think people sometimes forget this because WE SHOULD be competing with Arsena, but we're not. Arsna, pool, city and Chelsea are competing with each other trying to win the league and the champions league.

we are competing with villa, united, Newcastle and whoever else emerges to be the best of the rest and hopefully secure 5th and a potential CL spot

no point getting vexed about our transfer activity, we swim in the baby pool with the other 15 clubs and at full strength we look as good as any of them player wise

wow i just peeked at a forest forum to see what they're saying and the superiority complex they have over us is fucking hilarious. yeah, sure, we sucked last year and they had a historic season but a get a grip! double over them incoming

:walker-scream:

Why am I getting the feeling that we will miss out on MGW and Simmons and end up overpaying for the ordinary Jacob Ramsey in the last few days of the transfer window?

:frankthink:

Oh yeah I remember, we are Spurs

Relax ....one more season.....two at most and they'll be back in the champo and bankrupt where they belong and their owner gets bored.

Everyone likes to think they're our rivals......

100%, but only for now.

I am not suggesting we can't get to a point when we get a lot closer, but for the time-being. It's not realistic.

I think that'll come out from one of the more reliable journos (Gold, Romano, Ornstein, etc)
Ornstein and Romano haven't addressed any of it since they initially reported the deal was done. Almost like they think Forest are just delaying the inevitable. They haven't been drawn into this saga at all.

Gold went on a run of writing about how confident the club are but even he got bored of writing about it.

20 years ago our shirt sponsorship sold for £5M/season.

In 2019, 14 years later, it sold for £40M/season.

A 20 year sponsorship does not benefit the club. Inflation narginalizes the income too quickly. Then you're just left with an asset that's tied down long term on below market terms.

Tottenham isn' some L1 outfit starved for revenue that needs to lock down £10M in annual revenue to ensure the survival of the club.

You have little idea (if any) of how a business works.

Paying down interest rate debt, having access to money and as i said guaranteed annual income.

Why do you think it's taken Levy half a decade to find that investment. Name me a company that is lining up outside Levy's door to pay more?

Just one?

It's a great deal if true.

Not concerned abut MGW anymore. If he becomes another Berahino so be it. Lol. And the Forest cunt owner can carry on to be petty all he wants, I hope we are not entertaining him further. It has only been between themselves all along, let them sort themselves then.

i feel like we've all sort of ignored the fact that we almost always do business late in the window and have just deluded ourselves into thinking it would be different this time for some reason

Why Nottingham Forest have not launched official complaint against Tottenham for Morgan Gibbs-White talks

If this is true why isn’t MGW a spurs player? The acropolis are in breach of contract, why do they have any power to refuse or compel the player to stay? They are bluffing and no one, us or MGW, are calling it out.
I know this won’t happen, but MGW could sign for us, medical and all, and just start training with us whilst we send the Greek a cheque and MGW’s agent send them a legal letter stating that the RC was met and they no longer consider their client a NF player. Now that’d set the cat amongst the pigeons!

Yes it’s a fantasy situation but it’d make great entertainment and certainly call the BFG’s bluff 🤣

Edit: If all they’ve done is send us a warning letter, maybe we should go on the offensive and send them one stating we have met the RC, the player has agreed to join us and if they don’t release him then WE will make a formal complaint to the FA

Honestly the silence ought to be taken as a positive sign that we're finally sorting things out behind the scenes and stoping the leaks. How many of our recent transfers were leaked in advance? Yes it's frustrating as we all want signings to happen, but I'd rather the whole world didn't know our business before we've got it locked down.
Agree - I can’t for the next Dragusin to be unveiled
