Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If I’m MGW’s agent, I’d be advising him to play CL football this season to increase his chances of being in the England WC squad next year. Going to be much harder playing for Forest.

And yet, people go on about PSR and yet, certain clubs are not bothered in the slightest.
They have some squad, no messing about it seems, no doubt they will be top four along with pool, city, and arse, but to be expected I guess.

I suspect with our squad the way it currently is our highest achievable position is probably seventh. Sixth if one team out of Newcastle or villa has an absolute shocker like us last season

What are the terms of his contract that Forest have broken? You have absolutely no idea because you don't know what it says, nor does anyone.

I get that people just want to paint Forest as the big old bad guys, but the reality is every argument from the Spurs side is a simplistic case of "they broke MGWs contract" when they have no idea what the contract actually says.

It is a strange reaction from MGW if Forest have breached his contract. By strange reaction, I mean absolutely no reaction. And strange reaction from Forest to complain to the Premier League about their own apparent breach of contract.

Or maybe the truth is in plain sight, and is actually the fault of the club that assumed there was a clause in his contract that was triggered by doing X thing, who are actually facing legal action. Levy has fucked this up.
You started so well with a reasonable take on the story from the Spurs pov then completely fckued it up by recycling it from a NF pov. The assumptions on both sides are made up by clickbait and therefore left up to the gullible to jump on whichever bandwagon suits them in spite of the absence of facts.

The most valid part of your post is 'maybe' and maybe NF haven't contacted the PL at all?

Would you not think his numbers are massaged slightly by the quality of players at Liverpool servicing him? Would it be wise to buy another incredibly hard-working, hard running striker who’s a bit lacking when it comes to finishing, like Solanke?

Innit.

Complain about Solanke & Richarlison, then pitch the idea of replacing one of them with Nunez.

FFS! :roflmao:

understand Romano over weekend said that Spurs arranged the medical without Forests knowledge.

I usually think of you as one of the best posters on here, with usually thoughtful posts.
I think your position here of Spurs sueing Forest which you have repeated on quite a few occasions is very ill-thought out however.
Under what basis do we have a contract with Forest that they have broken ?
And it is our issue if we have used known illegally gained information (release clause) for our commercial gain.

You could look at a range of factors like scouting/legal fees, reputational harm, could also argue that Forest’s refusal caused loss of commercial opportunity, especially if the player had agreed personal terms so there is multiple angles the club could try. Obviously the player and agent would have the bigger claim but this is Levy we are talking about. Of course they could look to get us on the info but they would have to prove the agent provided it to us.

Fcuk knows what is going on with us, but what a club that filth are. Utter sh!t.

Players either want to join us or they don't. If it's a straight fight with any of that top 4, and possibly even United, we lose.

I think even the likes of Newcastle are seeing that, and I suspect Villa the same.

It's 2 or 3 tiers, even near the top of the PL.
Don’t think we were ever in for him TBH. He’ll want 250-300k. Why are Chelsea buying him? Does he replace Palmer? They have way too many players and surely cannot stay within PSR.

Do we know the structure of payments?

If it's 500m over 20 years but a good chunk is front-loaded then the TVM angle looks different. Maybe the Saudis are willing to put 100m cash down to guarantee this.
:franklol:

JFC - its all a load of bollocks!

I don't see how you guys fall for this shite every 4-6 months. Stadium naming rights, new owners, etc. etc. etc.

None of it is happening. ENIC aren't going anywhere. There is no windfall of cash coming. Stop falling for the clickbait.

I've been pretty much in the "No to Garnacho" camp, because I assumed he'd breach Frank's "no dickheads" rule.

But it turns out Spurs have insider knowledge because Justin Cochrane coached him. Not only that, it seems Garnacho is more coachable than I imagined.

This clip is fascinating both in terms of the insights into Garnacho, but also Cochrane as a coach, and how he helped develop him. Just to add, Cochrane comes over very well.

I think this type of insider knowledge of a player is an important part of assessing whether a player is worth signing. It provides information the data analysis alone can't provide.

What precisely has he developed Garnacho into?
