Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Must be in his thinking as Tuchel said that he wants players to be playing CL football to get a call up to his squad.
Deschamps is the same. Hes made exceptions for a few players who have a track record of competing at international and CL level in the past if he trusts them (like Kanté). But normally not. Olisé is a good example. Not even in the conversation - moves to Bayern and straight in the team.

MGW has never played at that top top level. He can do that with us

Guarantee if we sign him he ends up a starter by the end of the season - more reliable, mature and consistent than Romero is.

Brilliant centre back.
If we were a serious club, we'd sign him (or Bastoni) plus the Fulham left back, someone like Barella or Kovaciv in the middle, and Osimhen...or even make a record bid for Isak. We'd get a better goalie option than Kinsky & Austin...and Vic.

A fair few of our sorry lot from last season would also be told to jog the eff on sharpish.

But ENIC/Levy.

Beginning to look like another typical Levy summer. Supposed investment being this summers war chest, that never materialises, let's hope it does, but not counting any chickens.

Not enough early signings to give the manager time for a proper preseason. To much of our dross still here, with the new manager needing to run his eye over them line being thrown out again.

Kudus was a good start, but much more is required to move from 17th to competing at the right end of the table.

On top of all the above other teams are spending heavily from a position of strength, likely further increasing the gap. Levy might say he wants to win the PL and the CL but actions speak louder than words and until we witness same then nothing has changed.

Something very fishy is going on with Chelsea.

Valuation of N.Jackson is 80m +. A joke amount, but it being Chelsea they'll probably get it.
They bought Veiga for 14m and he played less than 10 times for them before being loaned out. Now talk Athletico will buy him for triple the amount.
They consistently sell their unwanted players for huge money.
Their (published) wages are not even that high any more, but still seem to attract player after player.

What's going on? Could they be paying backhanders to players/agents/clubs? Any other explanation?

No Way Do Not Want GIF

If the transfer does end up going through I think it will be

- £70m as a face saving for the Forest owner.

- BUT spread over 4 years instead of the release clause 2 years for Levy.

Chelsea are Clearlake capital which is mostly Saudi money. You’d have to trace back to the Saudi’s to find out. Chelsea are basically an informal oil club.
