PSR is over 3 years. Selling the women's team and some hotels to themselves pretty much erased any losses over that period and has them currently in the black. They'll need to come up with some new shenanigans in a year or two. Be interesting to see how long they'll be able to keep this up
The 100m less players bonuses for winning CWC will help them quite a lot.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they made a profit last season, sold quite a few players for reasonable value that would have been pure profit (remember any new player get amortised)

the only thing that makes sense to me is BFG is not honoring the release clause using easily disproved excuses and he thinks MGW won't push back and so far he's right.
If it were THAT simple there's absolutely no way on earth MGW would have ever set foot in Forest's facility again, his agents would drop him as a client before he did that. It would be trivially easy to legally enforce the contract if Forest were purely fictionalizing easily disprovable nonsense.

There's some sort of complexity there somewhere.

It's this bloke...

BFG is threatening to make it ugly. he's going to throw as much shit at the wall as he can and force a protracted legal fight he's betting mgw won't take. maybe there's something that he can use against the player but i doubt it. he's going to make mgw make himself into a pariah to get out of the club. that's his play here

The threat that was supposedly made against MGW legally is rather odd too, what will they do exactly? Fine him? Sue him? What good will come of that other than his form for them dropping like a lead balloon with resentment?

Kind of insinuating he himself made us aware of the clause.

If it is stipulated in the contract that the clause was not to be disclosed, I guess Forest could possibly argue that element of the contract has now been negated.

Haven’t seen that they have threatened MGW directly, in fact they are doing everything they can to keep him so doubt they have.

Now they have put his agency (which by default is an extension of him) under possible action notice, but I don’t think MGW takes that as a threat against himself.

That would be an incredibly stupid thing to do. CAA Stellar is the biggest agency and is part of CAA which also includes Base. If they fuck them off that is several billion pound worth of players no longer available for Forest to buy.

No clause in any contract can be disclosed. All contracts have many standard clauses, but one is no part of contract can be disclosed without both parties (player and club) agreeing in writing.

Whenever you see player salaries for example, it is not because they have been disclosed, they are just estimates.

I think people totally overestimate that.
CAA players would still go to whoever offers the most money or their players would be looking for other agency.

Not sure, if the agency got sued they would need to be incredibly forgiving to not let that impact the situation and unless a player was determined to go to Forest the agent would probably have a big say in the matter. The bigger problem is the release clause though, if you try and null and void a contractual obligation both players and agents would think twice. If I was a player I certainly wouldn’t entertain a club that flakes on its obligations.

I meant if the clause has been disclosed to Spurs from MGW's agent, then I guess Forest could argue that disclosure has now effected the validity of that element of the contract. I cant think of anything else that the they could argue against.
