Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

PSR is over 3 years. Selling the women's team and some hotels to themselves pretty much erased any losses over that period and has them currently in the black. They'll need to come up with some new shenanigans in a year or two. Be interesting to see how long they'll be able to keep this up
They're probably on the phone to Barca to see how they can mortgage off their television rights for the next millennium.

What I said is the non disclosure by any party is mandatory clause in every premier league contract. That is not up for debate.
It is in the standard form contract, that's true.

But that form can be modified, and one term not in that contract is anything about a release clause, any such clause would by definition be an extra add-on to the PL form contract.

It absolutely COULD be that the release clause in MGW's contract must be kept confidential per the terms of the agreement. That's not implausible at all as some others have suggested.

But that's not guaranteed to be the case either, nor is it mandatory.

Frank plays 3 atb against stronger teams. Hes said this in interviews and the evidence is there.

I think he wants to play 3atb in the champions league and if the right top class centreback can be signed then we will sign them. Also helps with our injury prone defenders.

So it's guaranteed he's not staying at forest he wants the move to spurs apparently. He's trying to do the right thing train and be professional and forest are hanging him out. Going to get messy soon I'd say. I struggle to think nobody has been interested in him especially teams like Newcastle

The only way he makes it to Spurs is to put in a transfer request.

If that fat cunt of an owner is digging his heels in then I can't see any way around it unless the release clause is legal and biding?

It's this bloke...

I think its a real problem to fit requirements for 2 different systems into a CL squad where we are limited to 21 players plus one club trained player (Austen) - so ideally need 5 or 6 CB's for one system and 5 or 6 CM's for the other.

You are 100% wrong.

Certain parts of a contract are obviously adjustable, salaries, bonuses, contract lengths, release clauses, agents names etc, but the vast majority of every players contract are totally standard and cannot be adjusted (what is expected from both parties, what players are prohibited from doing etc) including the fact that no part of a contract may be disclosed without agreement of both parties.
The standard contract template are a requirement from PL and aligned with clubs and PFA.

As I say this is not up for debate

Other than it appears no players or clubs observe it - it might prove embarrassing to bring it up in court as Notts Forest and its players have probably also broken that rule too.

One interesting hypothetical angle to this … imagine if MGWs release clause only was activated if Forest did not qualify for the CL or EL, and the day we bid was the day they later got elevated to the EL (due to Palace’s owner issue). Is the release clause active or not?
