Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They get nowhere near Liverpool's first XI. Or City's.

Well, they also don't walk nto our first 11 either, but they add some much needed depth to the squad.

Kudus will have to earn his spot if he wants to play ahead of Johnson. And Gibbs White doesn't start ahead of a fit Madison or Kulu.

If Son does leave, Odobert, Moore and Tel on the left would seem to be a spot lacking experience. My preference would be to keep Son and save him for the Champs League fixtures.

It's a real double edged sword.

On one hand getting paulinha on a loan is smart to see if he's upto it without spending 25m or so.

On the other hand its a f*king cheapo move and a real penny pinching opportunity instead of top quality.

Levy and co are smart movers, but I stand by my current thoughts on the ownership and running of the club

We're such a teemu big club
BM chased him for 2 years and valued at 50m. If we competed with them and won would it have shown ambition?

Good player but 2 concerns.

1 his age, a pure DM between 30-33 they tend to rapidly decline.

2 we need someone in the deep with a passing range ideally.

Go no issue with his off the ball ability. He killed us multiple times when we played Fulham.
This. He suits teams that defend more. We'll play that way in maybe a quarter of our matches. In the rest we will need someone that gets the ball forward with accuracy.

I think we're all still carrying the wounds of our horrible defending in the past 2-3 years that we feel this signing makes sense.

First I've ever heard Ramos called that! :dembelelol:

Juaquin on the other hand did a Gillette advert
I nicked it from a podcast that I listen to. It is from their series of episodes following Jesus Navas' career. They used it to describe the contrasts between Ramos and Navas who in spite of their differences are best friends.

But they specified it more to the Andalusian stereotype of machismo. So I generalized it a bit.

I translated “must sell to buy” to Latin and I present our new club motto:

“Vendere debet emere”

It even ends in the same “ere” as our current motto. Levy get on it. “We must sell to buy” is your legacy at Spurs.

Total bullshit.

Loaning player with option to buy is nothing new.
And if the option for now 30 yo is 25 mil, it is not that cheap at all.

Also he is EPL proven and while we had to play against him, every time I remember he was the best midfielder on the pitch.
How the fuck is random punt like Hjulmund who has done fuck all in real top league somehow better?

We absolutely do need to mix up strategy - we have lot of youth players. Let guys like Gray develop, bring in more experienced players who would have the impact now and who move on (to Saudis /MLS) by the time younger guns reach the peak. Totally reasonable idea.

It's certainly nothing new il give u that. But the vast majority of fans here have been screaming for a better quality or top quality cm and ur saying the very very best we can do is paulinha on a loan? Like, does that really satisfy you're ambition?

A decent option in certainly circumstances, yes. But id look at archie gray in that way for this coming season. Tbh, even if u added paulinha to our current squad id still pick 2 of our current crop ahead of him so where's the big improvement?

Yes and then they realised he was no good. Barely played, and won't even give him another season and happy to sell for half the price or less.
The guy can tackle il say that much, but when everyone's moaning how slow and turgid our play is il guarantee he will be a big contributing factor.

Very underwhelming. We will start this season further from the top teams in quality than last season somehow despite roughly spending the same amount.

We pedal like mad, but get nowhere.

No thanks…he’s finished
