Well the money spent on the two could have been spent much better if that is the case. The Tel deal I feel has really hampered us as we still need a quality left wide player.

I've seen others offer explanations, which are all valid, but I'm sure the biggest one is that his best position is as an inverted left forward, and he has ViniciusJnr and Mbappe who also prefer that position (even though Mbappe has been forced to play centrally in his first season).
Not that we are signing him, it's probably just his agent trying to flush out others.

The counter argument might be that if you get the opportunity to sign such a talented player then you do it. Those opportunities don’t come around very often.
