What. You mean like Burnley, Brentford and Palace?

Seriously though, man. Shouldn't we be aspiring to compete with City, Liverpool and Woolwich?

We have the money. We have the fan base. We have the location. We have the means. We charge the ticket prices.......We have Champions league football!!!

Honestly. Our fans really do need to raise their fucking standards.
My fuck, what a wonderful post

Your explanation and others’ make sense.

It would be odd to spend such a large amount of money for a position we are stacked in.

Shouldn’t we divert that money to an area of weakness?

The counter argument might be that if you get the opportunity to sign such a talented player then you do it. Those opportunities don’t come around very often.

You replied whilst I was adding some more:

Not that we are signing him, it's probably just his agent trying to flush out others.

If we are serious it's fucking stupid as we're only going to spend weeks dicking about on an extravagant name, when we should be making smarter, more realistic moves.

With regard to your point about being stacked at his position - we have Odobert, Tel, Son, Richarlison.

I think/hope we will be moving on Richarlison and probably Son. Neither of whom really excel ate that position or are capable of dribbling at/past people. That leaves two teenagers in Odobert and Tel. Rodrygo would be an upgrade on both of them, but I think it's a stupid idea for the reasons I stated above. Don't think he's worth the price quoted either.

You clearly haven’t seen enough of Rodrygo. His ball skills are far superior to Vini’s.

Vini has a lot more pace.

Vini a prototypical winger that can play as a CF/2nd ST role. Rodrygo can do either wing, 10, or stand in as false 9. Needs somewhere he can be the man and develop into “the man”- where he doesn’t have to be overshadowed by Vini and Mbappe.

I feel like they both have superb ball skills- not sure who is better but Rodrygo is very smooth and elegant. Vini is very direct and pacy.

No thanks…he’s finished

I'm not so sure. He's still class.

Overall 10th in goal creating actions per 90 minutes. (Yes, thats better than Gibbs-White, De Bryne, Mbuemo) and 6th in Shot creating actions. 9th in total goal assists - better than Cole Palmer, Eze.

So, he's still on of the best in the league at creating goals.

Replacing that contribution with Tel or Odobert would be a risk if they don't magically find form they have never previously show. Maybe Richy on the left? But his knee isn't up to it.
