Probably end up at Woolwich this time next yearSomething about him gives me really bad vibes, probably just the yearly club hopping. Can’t see him being happy at Chelsea very long tbh.

Last summer was Solanke and bunch of teenagers that meant the wage bill was slashed.
For a season when we were meant to be challenging in Europe as well as Domestic
It was a scandalous summer for a club our size and I say that as someone who rates all of those teenagers we signed
Indeed. There's the thought that if we are prudently run we increase the value of the club, then there's the one where we are really successful and the value of the club gets even bigger. What I don't get is Levy's desire to just stick with the first option and not go for proper success and increasing the value by more, if that's what he's really after. He's wanted to get the success by, I don't know, luck? When what it really takes is proper investment in player salaries. We've spent decent dough on players but we've lost out on better because of probably our self imposed salary cap. Hopefully we get MGW through, and one other first teamer by the end of the window because if not there will be an awful lot more disgruntled spurs supporters, not that I think he cares about that.We don't think like a big FOOTBALL club, more like a big financial institution.
That's the real problem, always has been.
Players aren't choosing chelsea because of "wages" - they don't even pay that highly.
They choose them because they are practically giving them a guaranteed salary over their whole career, such is the length of the contracts. Lots of pros have commented on that aspect.
That is just stupidity and not a simple 'wages' matter

So you don't care about actual quality and want us to sign older players on higher wages just because?
Think the main reason he was employed is, that he can generally overachieve on a limited budget/wages.He isn't that kind of manager though is he, he kept Brentford in the PL on the lowest net spend for how many seasons?
I think we will give him enough to make us compete for 5th place, our only glimmer of hope is we have some really good Young players and if we can get MGW over the line and some of the like of Bergvail improve on last season then I think we could have a really good competitive squad but the worry is we were already so far behind the likes of City and Pool etc and they are all strengthening like mad.
If we mess up this season and don't get CL again next season then I don't think we ever bridge that gap with the top 4 , our only hope is they all fuck off to a Super league
What. You mean like Burnley, Brentford and Palace?
Seriously though, man. Shouldn't we be aspiring to compete with City, Liverpool and Woolwich?
We have the money. We have the fan base. We have the location. We have the means. We charge the ticket prices.......We have Champions league football!!!
Honestly. Our fans really do need to raise their fucking standards.
Lower wages obviously, if only they had agents to look out for their interests . Luckily they don’t so we have hoovered up the worlds best players

The perfect manager for our owners.I like him,but he’s never gonna do a conte and call em out.Think the main reason he was employed is, that he can generally overachieve on a limited budget/wages.
That is probably the main driver behind this.
Exactly, levy would have informed him, we have a Harrods infrastructure, but you will be working with IKEA items. The perfect manager for our owners.I like him,but he’s never gonna do a conte and call em out.
Looks like he swallowed whole that Forest
BRAVO"Investment" "investment" "naming rights" "investment"
That's what they told us when it looked like we dropped 60m on MGW after spending 55m on Kudus because it was so unbelievable we would do it.
Meanwhile
Woolwich dropping 65m on Gyokeres, 55m on Zubimendi, 55m on Madueke, 12m on Nogaard and 13m on Mosquero.
United dropping 63m on cunha and 71m on Mbuemo.
Chelsea dropping 60m on Pedro, 60m in Gittens, 30m on Delap, 30m on Estevao, 20m on Essugo and about to drop another 70m on Simons.
Liverpool dropping 120m on Writz, 40m on Kerkez, 35m on Frimpong, 70m on Ekiteke.
They've done such a number on us that they make us feel like we are lucky we would spend that sum on 2 players when our rivals are doing it regularly and nobody bats an eyelid.
the lack of an update is getting so frustrating. Would be nice if we knew what was actually holding it up and when it'll be resolved. Sounds like Forest are just threatening legal action and trying to convince City to match Spurs' offer which is beyond bizzare at this stage.I’m still believing MGW will come, but we really need at a minimum 2 more quality signings and truth be told 3 or 4 , but we know that is not happening .
Whenever we spend 'big', we fuck it up.
Big clubs are entrenched with a culture of winning. These players come to us pick up their wage and play with minimum pressure to actually achieve anythingWhenever we spend 'big', we fuck it up.
No serious big club would've signed Ndombele, Richy or Solanke for 60, Johnson for 50, Madders for 45, Biss for 35...Archie for 40...
