Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s come from a major source though so it’s either Levy chancing his luck or Real just trying to drive up the price by throwing our name out there but either way it’s something happened but not in a million years do I think Rodrigo is coming to us. If it is the club chancing its arm then clearly we must have some money to spend.
Not even in a billion years

The major source is probably his agent trying to get the bids in and up so that they've got the best leverage for the best deal.

But hey, here's to the dreamers 😃

And again, the cuntiest cunt of a club getting it done on a player we should be targeting whilst we fuck about with our latest excuse to not get a transfer done

We all know by now MGW will be the “we tried” and we’ll end up signing El Khanouss or Buonannote type fodder

First of all, we can afford Simmons. But have you considered we're not after him for other reasons? He may not be all that. He's doesn't fit Frank's style. More importantly, he may not want to come to us. Etc etc.

Let's face it, we're not the draw that some other clubs are. We're tier 2 with the likes of Newcastle and Villa right now. Probably a bit above them. So we'll have to do with uncovering hidden gems and going for players like MGW et al until we get to tier 1 status.

That's just how it is and throwing stupid money at players like City did back in the late aughties is simply not sustainable at this day and age.

Waiting for all the "spend the money Levy" numpties to respond about us having ambishun ignoring the realities of today's football landscape.

Wages

Point is we don’t have to be. Massive multi purpose stadium, big fanbase (as shown by the EL win celebrations), great infrastructure. What we basically lack is what almost every other club in the league has and that includes the likes of Brighton and that is a bit of investment.

We are a B list team but in the way a A list student is being lazy and gets a B. The frustration is we could clearly do a lot more, be in a combination of shares to bring in new investors plus others bits on top like stadium sponsorship. All of this keeps getting rumoured to happen but until it does we are here.
New Shares is problem though, as that means either
A) dilution, and not sure ENIC want that route
B) rights issue, would probably nowadays be served better by loan
C) Partial sale of shares, where benefit would likely go to ENIC not club.

We have the PSR space, if we went down any of above, surely a shareholder loan serves better purpose.
But also let’s be honest, what is any investment more likely to be spent on, Infrastructure or sporting improvements ?
