Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The 3 new players are Kudus, Takai, and Vuskovic.

If we stick to the stone cold facts of the situation, which I'm sure people with an agenda will still want to twist:
  • We didn't "finish 17th" because of the players in the squad
    • In fact, most people spent half their keyboard bashing claiming that Ange was only losing games because Vicario, Romero and Van der Ven were injured - and that we'd easily be top 4 if they weren't, according to "the stats". We haven't sold any of that squad yet, so that argument seems to have dissipated
  • We finished 17th and lost 22 games because we had a manager that refused to do what was required to get points, and our setup was figured out by the Chelsea game.
Therefore, the hyperbole about "a squad that finished 17th" is disingenuous, because most of this squad also finished 5th the season before. We're missing Emerson Royal, Lo Celso, Hojbjerg, Skipp, and Werner - and no ones going to convince me they are the difference between 17th and 5th!

In essence, we've improved a lot on the 5th place team when you think we've brought in Kudus, Kinsky, Danso, Gray, Odobert and Solanke on top of that 23/24 squad - which at the absolute least keeps it as it was. Then we add in the likes of Vuskovic, who could have a big impact not least on depth (no idea on Takai or Min-Hyeok).

Then, on top of that, a difference manager who did a lot with far less at Brentford.

This isn't any endorsement of the current window or any suggestion that we need to stop there, but people melting about a "17th place side" and gushing over Woolwich need to get a grip

Alas, that's all the usual disingenuous cunts here will seek to see in your comments regardless.

Also don't get how we can never seem to sell any of our players for decent money.

I just think it shows how poorly we recruit sometimes. We are so bad at selling, and it's been like this for years and years.

I think Palhinha is actually a Frank push, he has similar stats to Norgaard who we were after until Woolwich stepped in.

I hope not…

If Frank was pushing for Norgaard, who was his captain and extension of himself on the pitch and then chose Woolwich instead of working with him at his new job with a major rival… that would be an awful look for Frank.

Let’s just hope we were never even in for Norgaard. And hopefully we aren’t really in for Paulinha either unless he’s a rotation option because both Biss and Benta are leaving

If Paulinha is our frontline DM signing, that’s pretty rough.

It feels like I'm sitting in a pub called The Spur.
Punters and a miserable bunch with half empty glasses.
They look over the road to The Arse and think: 'That's a lovely pub! Look, their glasses are half full!'

Why do we look at other teams' potential signings so optimistically and ours so pessimistically? Are we so afraid of failure?
You'd be standing in the fucking pub and there'd be no heating on, seats mean less customer turnover which reduces profit.

Get in, buy a beer for more than a fiver and then fuck off like you're supposed to.

I really liked Palinha at Fulham and would be excited if we were signing him last summer. Now though it seems really underwhelming, after such a poor season in Germany where a top club have decided to get rid as soon as possible.

That worries me.

Just shows how pathetic we are run as a club, Woolwich sign one of the best talents in the game for their number 6, and we sign a Bayern reject for 20 mill. It's just another punt really.

Like ever though I hope it pays off for us. Meh
It’s his agent trying it on I reckon. Why would he fit what Frank seems to want? The 2 in front of the defence need to have a range of pass, down the channels, and be safe on the ball. We don’t need a clogger there.

Yeah but your mate @Trix said this over on SC

MGW I still think will happen. Talks have been ongoing despite what the press are being told, and although Forest keep moving the proverbial goalposts every time his people feel they are making headway, it suits nobody for him to stay.

Rodrygo interest is genuine from what I'm told.

We should start to see the outs next week, and more change at the top table within the next few weeks/months.

when questioned on it he has ignored every single post directed at him regarding this quote. He doesn't want to engage in that specific quote because he knows its an absolute lie unless he believes Vuskovic and Takai are better than Romero and VDV which he obviously doesn't.

Maybe instead of jumping in because his ideology is similar to yours read what the poster you are defending has actually said and realise who the disingenuous one is.

Unfortunately I don't think it is agent talk. Romano reporting that we are talking to his camp. To me it seems like he's our back up option if we can't get our top target, Whoever it is, Wharton or otherwise, 100% we won't sign them so it'll be Palinha.

Also with how we work, we have a set budget, so it'll be like, if we can get a top target in one area, it'll mean we have to go cheaper in another area.

It's always about getting the best deals, not targeting a specific player and bringing them in.

Signed for a manager that then left. Footballs about styles, if you don't fit a managers style of play it doesn't make you a bad player.

Levy's updated the super computer to churn out a record number of Levy Bots

So that's where our transfer budget has gone

I did read it ALL..... I also saw that the subsequent few paragraphs that explain his position in greater depth were completely ignored and he just received the usual snide laughing emojis instead form a couple of usual suspects.

What I said is literally coming to pass. It's classic TFC behaviour that some of us suffer on a daily basis.

Oh and I'm not defending him from incoming criticism (I'm sure he doesn't need my help); I'm simply conveying empathy to him.... Sorry if that is some kind of breach of protocol.
