No definitely. And maybe his agents have fucked up more than we did. But it’s completely clear what happened to me at least.

Once we backed off, MGW and his agents were like well there’s no other option but to stay and Forest waved a big contract in his face and he’s signed it. It’s the obvious and only thing to do in MGW and his agents perspective and Marinakis has played a blinder.

I can live without MGW, but what’s really annoying is you just know there is nobody else we will sign close to the quality. It will be another cheap punt.

Whereas you know if this was Chelsea or Woolwich they’d go out and sign Eze or Simons.

We are so poorly run it’s unbelievable. Happens every fucking summer.

Remember how bad last summer was. 40 mill on Gray. Punt on Odobert, Werner on loan.

And what have we done this summer? Only Kudus.

That’s nearly two complete summer windows, it’s atrocious. We simply don’t sign good enough quality players. We’re so unambitious on the pitch. I’m sick of it

There was clearly a bid, and clearly something was in the offing. As much as he can be a tool, Romano is a tap in merchant and the fact he said it was happening at one point means there was in the very least a bid and a move was on offer. It’s also been reported on widely in the last three weeks. We’ve buggered it somewhere and MGW has taken the money to stay put, and likely ditched the release clause altogether.

To say it was all a made up fantasy and nothing was ever happening at all, is just absolutely bloody ridiculous tbh.

Probably someone like Julien Brandt or Alex Scott they're quite similar in that they are primarily creative players but also work hard off the ball.

Although Scott has injury issues, still young and hasn't really hit the heights at prem level yet.

I’ve got a lot of issues with how ENIC run spurs but I’m not going as far as believing that they never intended to actually sign MGW, and that this was all just smoke and mirrors to appease the fans.

It was an attempt at an opportunistic signing, which tends to be our MO for bigger name players.

Maybe we were interested, maybe we weren’t. We will never know.

Yes..... That bothers me.

Suddenly email, skype and chartered flights don't exist for 2 weeks.

Season 1 under Ange was the same when we went out to Oz.... Literally nothing happened until Levy got back.
