Wouldn't surprise me either if the club have heard that the player would be interested in Spurs from source A, heard the release clause figure from source B, thought they could connect the dots and made a horlicks of it.

Whatever the case, whether the fat Greek was bluffing or not, there was obviously enough of a whiff of collusion and impropriety with the approach on our part that meant we totally backed down on it the past two weeks.

There is enough to castigate Levy over - the continued lack of real coherent vision, transfer policy, that at least 50% of this squad is still total dog muck, another total 180 on the manager front (the most boring, basic, middle of the road safe guy playing boring basic middle of the road pragmatic football after the last guy was seen as too extreme and out there).... but this one I don't think is on him.

Fault here I'm more inclined to say is with the recruitment/admin who have clearly totally cocked up the bid/approach.

What happened is much simpler. MGW's agent was looking for more income. Two ways to achieve this. His player is sold or signs a new deal with incumbent club. He convinces Spurs to bid 60m which will trigger the clause. We do this. Forest go ape shit, we back away and 2 weeks later MGW signs his new deal doubling his salary. Agent gets paid and Spurs have been hoodwinked again.

Or Levy's a cunt.

The combination of watching us struggle against Wycombe and Luton, the mounting injuries, players pulling out 20 minutes before kickoff, and the complete lack of any identifiable style of play is soul-destroying.

We’re still seeing the same underperforming players putting in the same lifeless performances, and there’s no sign of progress. The one potential signing who could’ve genuinely elevated this squad has now decided to stay at Forest — just two weeks after it looked like he was ours.

All this, just weeks after we were supposedly getting £300m investment, Levy was stepping aside, and we were finally about to become competitive.

Instead, we look like a club in limbo — stuck in neutral while everyone else moves forward.

I don’t need evidence, they do. I’m not claiming anything.

Forest owner threatened legal action did he?

Seen any evidence of that?

Release clause triggered and player wants the move but just reports to training like normal?

None of that seems even remotely far fetched to you ? Because you trust the journalists that reported it.

Up to you I guess.

Bet you were not spending that 60m on another established player and it’s not like they don’t exist
