Ultimately it is not association trained players we are short on, it is club trained players (and only for Europe, not PL purposes)
It will resolve itself in a couple of years time when players such as Gray and Bergvall will be classified as club trained when they have served enough time with us.
But for now we can basically name 22 players in Europe, and any player under 21 that has been in the academy for 3 years (eg Lankshear Scarlett) and not a lot we can do about it apart from signing former qualified academy players that are not with us any more, and not good enough for us anyway.

The fact is he is no worse than Paratici or Hitchen it is just like any role involving transfers including under Harry Redknapp you have to involve Levy and he is a fucking disaster. The man does not know how to push.
The fact is because Levy is completely incompetent when it comes to anything related to on the pitch it is all a disaster. Look at Poch for example he gave up on signing players because they kept on giving him players like N'Jie and Nkoudou. Levy constantly forces whoever is in that job to make signings off the B-D List and on top of that he is constantly looking for a deal which means we end up signing your Royal's, Richarlison's and Bissouma's.
Im holding Levy to his words. He wants to challenge on all four fronts. Winning premier leage and champions league. Out of touch chairman imo.

Trouble is there's such a huge misalignment between the owners, club and fans its almost become impossible to resolve, get everyone on the same page and build anything that looks remotely like success.
No way frank can get this team to a position in the league that would satisfy most fans, no way.

I’ve no doubt he does. But to think we are capable of doing so without what appears to be even the simplest of transfer plans, means he’s a complete fantasist. As are you, if you are holding him to his word. Particularly if you are one of those strange breed that heard him say that and convinced yourself he meant this season.
We should be in a position to challenge for the league, as we have the money and support to do so, but we appear to lack a cohesive plan to improve the squad. Heard a podcast last week involving the people behind Liverpool’s business and it was simple and enlightening at the same time. Plan for Summer in January and for January in Summer. Have 2-3 top targets for each position of weakness and the sign one of them. Whilst I’m not one of those that subscribes to the theory you can quickly buy a player, giving yourself six months to start chatting to agents of your targets makes sense to me.
Rather that than scrabbling around for deals that make fiscal sense only.
Doesn’t help we can’t settle on a structure or a staff to carry out any plans. Constant chopping and changing of managers, coaches, support staff make long term planning impossible.

Lange might be a plank or he might have had a few ideas knocked back or not followed through on , it’s so hard to know . Whether it’s Lange , Paratici or Levy, or a combination of the 3 it is once again a shambles in my view .

He should be able to. All I read on here last season was about how high in the league we’d be with a “proper manager” and not a “fat fraud” in charge. We should all be expecting big things, without any new players.
Don’t subscribe to that myself, as I’m pretty sure our squad is, on the whole, not that talented and damn fucking lazy.
