You have to evaluate Lange based on what he does with the budget he has, not what other teams have. Spurs were in with a chance on Morgan Gibbs-White and ran up against a strange situation. I think the money that would have been spent on him will be deployed before the end of the window, but not necessarily on the same position or even all on one player. Gibbs-White would have been an impactful player and the question is whether another difference making type player is out there Spurs can close a deal with. If there isn't, maybe the best outcome for this window is to get the best #6 available and keep some flexibility for the winter window.

Agree

There is no harm trying to be ambitious but it's better to operate well within your own limitations and that is where the club needs to improve on. We don't want to pay high salaries and high transfer fees, ok then go and get the best talent that does fit within our financial boundaries.
