Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’d have hoped Frank would have a pretty strong knowledge of the squad before taking the job. However, I can see the lack of activity being due to him being new and wanting to evaluate the players before doing anything.

Which neatly brings us back to the fact we need to stop sacking managers. And stop giving players the good old clean slate.
Anotjer big problem is the size and state of our squad. We really do need to sell to buy. And we're as bad at getting rid as we are at getting people in

I’m actually not certain Rodrygo is quite as good as everyone thinks he is. He’s obviously way better than anything we’ve got. But for say £90m and huge wages I’m not sure he’s actually that level of player.
Bit like Tel? If he’d been of any use to Bayern we’d never have got him same with this fella Rodrygo if Real rate him he’d no be leaving ……besides until he rocks up in a Tottenham polo shirt on the official site I’ll no get that excited even with the “here we go” patter …..

Way i see it atm and going into new season. Are we going to get rolled over again at anfield, make Woolwich look like deluded world beaters, and lose home and away to chelsea again? Over to you daniel!
Well both Liverpool and Woolwich did the double over us convincingly last year.

Both have and will have strengthened since last year whilst we have changed manager and added Kudus.

It will take a monumental effort to get anything out of these fixtures........

Do remember poch interevened when adebayor was training with youth team. Must have lowered morale of first team seeing that. Read he just wanted him out. We just need to cut losses with players we dont want. We lower prices the players we dont want can accumulate a fair whack in money. Rather than putting a player on loan for a season.

Nevermind that, but nobodies like Villa, Newcastle and Brighton have come out of nowhere to be on par/ahead of us.

The EL was an anomaly, not the norm. Any team can win a one off cup. Wigan win the FA cup and got relegated for God's sake.

Any players we can get signed now will miss out on pre season so likely a slow start for them. No urgency at all. But I guess "Lange moves in the shadows" and "stop moaning, the transfer window is still open". Dig your head in the sand and pretend everything is fine, that's how "real fans" behave.
Villa apparently, are running at a high wage to turnover ratio and yet, hasn't stopped them recruiting.
I think someone mentioned before, clubs who are driven to do well find ways to get around it, Tottenham use it as an excuse and hide behind it.
