40th anniversary of its original release.
Competitively that's true.20 years ago was the first year we started to properly compete for the top 4, that's why I used it as a benchmark.
If anything, we're further away now than we were then.
If you want to convince yourself that Marinakis has some kind of leverage over MGW and coerced him into signing his new deal, be my guest. I have no vested interest in the matter, just my opinion that occam's razor likely holds true here, the player is settled and we don't represent a big enough step up for MGW when competing with remaining settled on similar wages. We don't have the stomach to wave £300k a week in anyone's face like Utd so he's staying put. Mine and my partner's only pregnancy was difficult actually, but I am not Morgan Gibbs-White, his world and mine are not even one iota similar, so I don't see what that has to do with this situation whatsoever, a difficult pregnancy for the average person who has 50+ years to shape and think about their career has absolutely nothing to do with a footballer who gets maybe 15, functionally of which 5 or 6 are in your physical prime, with which to maximise their earnings, so trying to pull heartstrings with your silly prompt just seems a bit asinine really. What a load of piffle! So you don’t think Maranakis throwing his toys out the pram had no bearing on his decision? Have you had a partner with a difficult pregnancy? The last thing you want is a load of external stress. None of that adds up to a flat rejection!
Olise’s failed transfer to Chelsea after Palace threatened legal action for one?
About the only thing you got correct is your choice of user name!

Chelsea actively backed off that deal, they had to sell a hotel to themselves to stay out of shit with PSR that season, in all likelihood they knew they would owe Palace an additional £8-10m they didn't have wiggle room for, I can't find a shred of evidence that we backed out of the MGW deal.
You mean it’s not posted on the internet for public consumption?!I can't find a shred of evidence that we backed out of the MGW deal.

But you'll happily accept a goal.com article (the only evidence I can find that Palace were considering legal action over the Olise deal) as gospel? You mean it’s not posted on the internet for public consumption?!

It was reported more extensively than that including by Ornstein and The Athletic. But you'll happily accept a goal.com article (the only evidence I can find that Palace were considering legal action over the Olise deal) as gospel?
No, it wasn't.It was reported more extensively than that including by Ornstein and The Athletic.
A one year extension, after 12 months of rejecting a new deal, is hardly the glorious victory for Forest that the slimey criminal seems to want to narrate either. It’s very likely his agent is being threatened with breach of contract.
MGW probably didn’t want the aggro if his partner is having a difficult pregnancy.
Being forced to stay whatever the circumstances is very different from the flat rejection you’re making out.
I think the bolded is the most frustrating bit for me, for years we painstakingly climbed our way to being best of the rest first of all, and then broke into the top 4 party, and then even a brief flirtation with being title challengers, whilst the others largely stood still. We are shit.
The board are shit.
The players we buy are for the most part, shit.
It's second rate slop that we buy, we buy thrice for every good player we could buy, but that's not the Levy way. I also don't think you can look back at the last 15-20 years and say we've made any significant, prolonged improvement, while others have caught up to us in no tome. So it's clearly not just moaning.
But if you want to bury your head in the sand and be a yes man, that's your prerogative. We're still allowed to support the club, and be dissatisfied. Who are you to gatekeep. Moron.
Apparently it's old news from a week or so ago, it's just that Castles has brought the subject up again. it sounds like the player wants to join PSG not Spurs, I don't think there will be another CB unless Romero leaves.
We would need to sign 3 or 4 players, 2 of those nailed on starters that all work out in their positions to have a chance of competing for top four this season IMO and I can't remember a window in the last 6 years where even half our signings have worked out well.I think the bolded is the most frustrating bit for me, for years we painstakingly climbed our way to being best of the rest first of all, and then broke into the top 4 party, and then even a brief flirtation with being title challengers, whilst the others largely stood still.
Then we shat the bed, and as we were rolling around in our own mess, a bunch of other sides showed that what took us so long to achieve could actually be done almost overnight.
You now see clubs like Bournemouth and Brighton throwing around fees that we umm and aah over, too afraid to take a punt on an "unproven" prospect, too stingey to cough up for the "sure thing", and most of the time ending up with simply bang average.
We're a sad club living of distant former glories, and not so distant but still very former almost glories.
For all we wanted the EL win to be the dawning of a new golden age, this summer has hammered home that nothing has changed.
To be jetting off on our annual pre-season shake down of the Far East with just one real addition to the squad is pathetic. No matter who we sign in the remainder of the window, we have shown once again that nothing has been learned, and the same mistakes will continue to be made.
I'd settle for Chunk right this moment.Just been to see The Goonies in odeon,
We signed any cunt in the meantime?
Lazy scouting summed by the deadline day deals for oddebert and Solanke.
Other teams sell their properties so they can buy more players
We buy less players so that we can build more property
We'll probably try selling players to ourselves to finance another wing on the hotel

What is this showing?Sarr and Camara are team mates but compare their heats maps

And you don’t?!
Why do think Maranakis was stood beside him like Tony Soprano?!
Whether it was the threat of legal action or something more sinister, signing that contract wasn’t his first choice.
Depends, to read them you need to know wat type of heat map they are. What is this showing?
Doesnt a darker colour mean more time spent in an area of the pitch?
They are both spending the same amount of time on the pitch (in total) so fewer dark areas mean greater pitch coverage? (The time on the pitch is not concentrated in one area).
Or is it only showing where players touch the ball?
Genuinely confused by this.
