Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Penny pinching? - Spent 140m this window, on top of the 500m spent the last 2 seasons.

Ange was sacked the day he came back from holiday. It wasn't 'waiting weeks'.

Spurs don't have weakness all over the pitch. Lack of full back options, but everywhere else there is good depth.

Spurs already have far too many foreign players, and can only sign english - which makes options very limited.

Personally - I still think we steal Eze at the final moment with a huge offer to gazump Woolwich. Clearly Spurs need to wait for them to make the first move and timing will be key.
Levy's starboi strikes again.

So that’s why we did loads of business during every other tour then
There’s been a widely reported penalty clause preventing Sonny being sold before the tour which would imply there are high profile sponsors present.

From personal business experience in the Far East, they expect the head honchos to be present in person. That’s why I’d suggest the leadership team are there.

You want big money spending on transfers, well you have to meet the business requirements in order to secure that funding.

We’ve no idea what other discussions are going on with agents while they’re with the tour, so why the faux outrage?! I very much doubt they’re not taking calls and answering emails in order to enjoy a jolly!

Maybe it is. We don’t know. I’m possibly remembering, with rose tinted glasses, the talk of “Big Ange called me and convinced me to come” talk from previous windows. Maybe Frank requested Lange come on the trip?

I do know that in my business, if one of the most important members of my team wants to travel somewhere, he’d better have a fucking good reason and not just be going for a jolly. Doubt we operate differently to that. Is there a world where the famously tight arsed Levy says to Lange “aye, just come along - we’ll have a few drinks and a bit of a laugh, don’t be worrying about the day job”.
Would be good to know what Lange is doing out there, what’s his exact function out in Hong Kong - why can he talk to prospective players digitally but has to speak to Frank/Levy face to face.

If it’s another summer where no signings happen whilst we’re on tour then the question is only going to get louder if he fucks off again next summer

You give up too easy man. You said we'd be gone in the QF of Europa League.

You said it was because of Ange that we were crap. He finished 5th then won a trophy and you said we'd go better with a proper manager. Now you have your manager and you start blaming the crappy squad we have.

So, everything Ange and this squad did right in 2 seasons was luck but Frank is good so he won’t be able have as much luck.

Okay
LOL
He ain't got a scoobie.

Surely Mikey Moore, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett have more to gain from being on tour, yet they are at home to sort out potential loans. Sounds like they've got to sort out their own shit while those that should be looking after their futures are having a ball.
Think that's probably just the club wording it that way so as to not give much away. Imagine all 3 are somewhat advanced in talks already. Maybe even perm for Devine/Dane.

Isn’t that the role of their agent?

Agent/club then decide together on the best option for development from the list of potentials loans the agent has received?
That's them sorting out their own shit then isn't it? Agents don't work for us, they sooner get Moore et al a new club than worry about it's impact on Tottenham Hotspur.

We should be looking at team data to find them the best environment where they'd not only get the minutes, but also in the positions that we want them to play (though we fucked that up somewhat with Gray), and in the style or formation that we envisage playing. Would an agent know that? Sure they can meet with the club to discus afterward and then be told no, that won't do.

We've had too many loans where our punts have not gotten game time and have not developed further as a result, which has impacted on our club trained numbers. But, we're getting away from the point that the people in charge of transfers should be working on transfers, especially during the transfer window, rather than going on tour. There's no sponsor window so there's enough time to work on attracting sponsors outside of the transfer window.

And, it's easier to grow your sponsor base if you grow your fan base, just ask manure; and you grow your fan base by playing exciting football and winning stuff.

I can see no logical reason for them being there. Maybe there is a valid reason, but I just don't see it

He’s broke a lot of things first, before other itk/journo’s

I’ve not seen him “chatting shit” about anything
Reluctantly agree (because I don't like the cunt), but his approach is different from most journalists and he only writes about transfers when things are very concrete or (almost) done. Which makes him one of the most reliable sources.

He is certainly not one of those "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" cunts.
