Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They aren't doing absolutely everything they could with their riches even right now, both off the field and on, and this Isak thing is a devastating blow to the credibility of the project.

I think there are serious questions about how committed the Saudis actually are to that club, which should be getting more coverage than it has.

With the self-sponsorship rules loosened again (to merely 'It's ok so long as it's 'fair market rate' ")..... They could have easily abused that system to inflate their income levels the way MC did before the rules on such things got tightened.

I expected both them and MC to go nuts with their spending this summer; but neither have thus far thankfully.

That’s a bit silly. I’m not totally sold on him but he’s very fast, very strong and has a great leap on him as well as being able to strike a ball incredibly cleanly.

He’s not very polished or composed yet but he’s very young for a CF and producing good numbers. He’s well beyond what Daka ever was.

Daka was quick and lethal at Salzburg. Nearly a goal per game in his last league season there. Did nothing in the PL. Just another Red Bull money maker.

Sesko is being talked up like he's someone that would or should be starting here, when he's hardly getting 1 in 3 in a league where Kane is significantly more comfortable than the PL. After all, they want over £70m for him. Mental.

To be clear here, Daka never played for Leipzig, he was scoring for fun in Austria, a much, much worse league.

There must be a fair bit of fudge it latitude in the fair market value rule as I thought Citeh had some of their stupidly inflated sponsorships that were in question cleared recently?!

So if the entire team was on loan last season and all those 11 players then signed permanent contracts, you'd say that we'd brought in 11 players would you?

Take a chill pill fella. I just find it funny that some fans are sooooo angry about not getting new signings that they want to rule out the ones we have made as not counting.

The FACT is we have signed 5 players this window.

Kudus
Tel
Takai
Danso
Vuskovic

We are starting to pay for them from July onwards - to the tune of ~£125 M. These are FACTS.

I personally think the club have disgracefully underinvested in the first team, and need to sign at least 2-3 more players who will improve our first team to have any chance of a top 6 finish (primarily a progressive passer DCM and proper competition for Solanke, but LB competition for Udogie would also be welcomed). Notably, we have only recouped ~£20m (Hojbjerg, Keeley and Edwards 35% sell on clause). Us being so crap at selling players holds us back as much as anything.

sorry summer signings are new players who weren't available last season. this whole discussion is about improving the squad from last season. trying to shoehorn danso and tel in is bullshit semantics to win an internet debate.

Solanke, Johnson, Maddison are decent squad players, and would be great in low level domestic cup comps. But not for starting in any top flight game, in a squad who is seriously looking to dine at the top table imo.
Benny, since his injury doesn't look the same player and our beloved Sonny has come to the end of being effective at this level. These 2 along with Bissouma need to move on and if we got any sniff of an interest for any of the other 3 I'd hope we would pursue it.

Finishing 17th in The EPL, heads must role! Ange's did, we know Levy's won't but the players mentioned are senior pros and not one of them stepped up when needed IN THE LEAGUE and sacking off the league for the CL might be forgivable if finishing 10th or 12th, but we flirted we relegation!!

This is a very stupid argument that would benefit from greater context.

Under Poch we finished ahead of Woolwich and Liverpool for two straight seasons, have just about reached revenue parity with them, the other big PL clubs who aren't financial doping cases. We came to understand them as peers.

And having already exploded ahead of us competitively, they are now burying us in the transfer market. The glass ceiling of the Champions League places that we smashed is being repaired right over our heads.

THAT is why the club standing still and twiddling its thumbs is causing the fans to freak the fuck out.
