Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If ben davies is part of our plans when the window shuts then i cant take our club seriously next season. No disrespect but should have gone in 2019.
I raised these concerns when we extended his contract last month. Its inexcusable if he is a squad player expected to play anywhere between 20%-50% of games.

I love Ben Davies. A fantastic servant to our club. But he wouldn't start for any other team in the league and we are 1/2 injuries away from relying on him playing every game! Utter madness. If Udogie is injured then there is a massive chance he starts against PSG in 2 weeks. This is beyond embarrassing.

Solanke, Johnson, Maddison are decent squad players, and would be great in low level domestic cup comps. But not for starting in any top flight game, in a squad who is seriously looking to dine at the top table imo.
Benny, since his injury doesn't look the same player and our beloved Sonny has come to the end of being effective at this level. These 2 along with Bissouma need to move on and if we got any sniff of an interest for any of the other 3 I'd hope we would pursue it.

Finishing 17th in The EPL, heads must role! Ange's did, we know Levy's won't but the players mentioned are senior pros and not one of them stepped up when needed IN THE LEAGUE and sacking off the league for the CL might be forgivable if finishing 10th or 12th, but we flirted we relegation!!

Johnson is better at what he is supposed to do than Solankr. Simple

Maddison never dominates a midfield against a top side. It's that simple, and he never will. That's a matter of evidence.

None would be regular starters in a team challenging for top 3, that's for sure, but they can be streaky, although we are waiting for Solanke's first rashion. I did that deliberately.

This is a very stupid argument that would benefit from greater context.

Under Poch we finished ahead of Woolwich and Liverpool for two straight seasons, have just about reached revenue parity with them, the other big PL clubs who aren't financial doping cases. We came to understand them as peers.

And having already exploded ahead of us competitively, they are now burying us in the transfer market. The glass ceiling of the Champions League places that we smashed is being repaired right over our heads.

THAT is why the club standing still and twiddling its thumbs is causing the fans to freak the fuck out.

I really don't think Davies presence in the squad I'd anywhere near the height of our issues.

In a back 4/5 with protection, he ain't letting anyone down.

I think our greater concerns lie elsewhere.

I do think he will be gone by end of window. Surely the club arent that stupid to realise we need cover for udogie whos injury prone. Think we might get robinson from fulham as back up or even mitchell from palace In addition garnacho from united just before window shuts so we get lower fee and clubs want them to get them off wage bill. Do think we will get that rennes striker as well. Imo we should go for joao gomes from wolves.

Every player we have is injury prone. It's thre one constant. Hard to fathom. Given-up even trying to draw conclusions.

When this window closes, Levy will have likely been so dominated by Radcliffe that he should be embarrassed to show his face at a premier league game

On the contrary,

I bit he feels like a massive winner. All these fools spending huge amounts on transfers and having massive wage bills trying to chase glory or a CL spot, while he runs one of the most profitable clubs all while winning a trophy and making champions league spot all on super low wages and low transfer fees

That’s the fucked up thing as a Spurs fan.

We loved that EL win but we know deep down that it’s probably only encouraged him.

Sacking Ange was its own type of denial as well. He gets to tell himself it was his model that won the EL and the league was all Ange’s fault.

Hes convinced himself that one good manager will make this squad deep enough for a European and domestic challenge

Wishful thinking mate. Hope your right though. I wouldn't say no to any of them signings at this rate.

Robinson would be my favourite but starting to feel like a long shot.

He's easily our biggest problem if he's our main option as a back up left back. Udogie could be injured for PSG and there is every chance Davies could start that game if he is.

Lets see how he gets on up against Doue for 90 mins. Christ.

They aren't doing absolutely everything they could with their riches even right now, both off the field and on, and this Isak thing is a devastating blow to the credibility of the project.

I think there are serious questions about how committed the Saudis actually are to that club, which should be getting more coverage than it has.
I reckon they'll sell Isaak for 3 x what they paid, freeing them up to drop £150m within the rules.
But I also feel like theres a slightly stealthy plan by the likes of City and Liverpool to hold Newcastle back as long as possible.

Have you been to newcastle? it's too far away from the south to get much corporate money (what companies would be fighting to get a box at a new st james' park?) plus newcastle is too far away from anything to get money from casual fans or increase their stadium going fanbase
I've been, yes. Not St Jame's but to the area.
If Newcastle grow to a point they can sign superstars and challenge for the league and champions league they'll get the big spenders in the ground.
Liverpool and United have never had an issue with attendance and fans from all over the country/world going there every week.

Take a chill pill fella. I just find it funny that some fans are sooooo angry about not getting new signings that they want to rule out the ones we have made as not counting.
I'm the chilleet chilled guy in chilly land - I do find it funny that every other post there's someone like you posting facts about how many signings we've made desperate to prove that they are right in their claims that we've made X amount of signings and spent this amount of money - I mean why does it even bother you that you feel the need to 'correct' people anyway?

But seeing as you like them, the fact of the matter is, the only real improvement to our starting eleven this season from last season is that we've now got Kudus and a new manager.

Whether that's enough, only time will tell.

I'll still turn up week in week out like the idiot I am
