That’s the fucked up thing as a Spurs fan.

We loved that EL win but we know deep down that it’s probably only encouraged him.

Sacking Ange was its own type of denial as well. He gets to tell himself it was his model that won the EL and the league was all Ange’s fault.

Hes convinced himself that one good manager will make this squad deep enough for a European and domestic challenge
Oh fuck! I hope your wrong, but I wouldn't rule it out.
If Levy is really thinking that gambling with relegation is worth winning a trophy is a good bet then we are truly fucked!

Said this before, do the football knowledgeable people at THFC not see what we see or are they to frightened to rock the boat by saying certain player are not up to it? Or are they simply not asked for their input?

If so I hope Frank and his team have a pair and realise that a number of our current senior squad ain't up to the level required for what we want to supposedly achieve and make that clear to Enic.

Certain players = Solanke, Johnson, Maddison, Sonny (now) Benny, Bissouma. These for me are all mid-table footballers, excluding Sonny who needs to be put out to pasture, like the great throughbred he once was.

I can safely tell you we will not get relegated in the next 10 years. No chance. But I can also be quite confident that we won't win the league in the next 10 years either.

We will just keep doing this cycle. New manager every 2 seasons. Build a good team, get top 4, not back the good team to go any better, fall back to midtable, sack the manager, new manager rebuild, build a good team, top 4, not back the good team, etc etc etc etc. Thats our cycle for the next 10 years. Boring and predictable.

Might win 1 or 2 cups in the next 10 years. That'll be the best case scenario for us fans under Levy. He will never get us to the top to actually be able to win an EPL or CL.

There is a serious chance Ben Davies could be starting at left back against PSG in 2 weeks time

lol if you can't laugh you'll cry. What an absolute shitshow this club is
So many on here taking shots at Marinakis for being a gangster and holding MGW hostage.

Which is ironic considering Levy's been taking the club and its fans hostage for 25 years, whilst dipping his shitty little hands in the till on the regular.

Pal, the only reason we didn't get relegated last season was cause Leicester, Ipswich & Southampton were even shitter than we were.

Leicester have zilch money (still took 4 pts out of us), Ipswich aren't loaded either and was their first go at the top division in forever (still humiliated us at our place), and Southampton played Angeball on steroids.

But make no mistake - we were simply atrocious, an absolute joke, and we definitely deserved to go down. 90% of our squad was an utter embarrassment to football...vomit-inducing stuff.

So relegation is not an impossible feat with them mugs in charge and those lazy, talent-less clowns we call our players.

We wouldn't have got relegated. We'd have binned off the Europa league and gone all out for the league if there was even a chance 10% of relegation.

It was never happening. I know we finished 17th but if we prioritised the league and threw away the Europa League instead, then we'd have easily finished ahead of a few more teams.

We aren't getting relegated in the next 10 years. Lets stop being so dramatic on here. Same way we aren't going to win the prem in the next 10 years either!

We couldn't buy a win long before we officially "binned" off the league

I don't think thats a sure thing to say at all.

The amount of clubs that have become and are becoming really really well run is growing fast. Yes they could falter and have a slide but generally there's quite a fair few that operate in a way that will probably see them safe each season. Id have about 13 clubs in that bracket leaving 3 clubs to get relegated from 7 teams.

You would think its not possible for us to go down but I can really really feel that with each failed cycle of manager, each year of incredible infrastructure blabbing, each year of huge revenue increase whilst not being competitive, each year of watching other top clubs take the glory the level of toxicity is getting higher and higher.

I tell you now that despite us being at the start of a NEW cycle again, a fresh start that if things don't go well between seasons start and Xmas then we're in for a level of discontent that's not been seen before. Add to that the young squad we have, the pressure and unease they will feel we have all the ingredients there to collapse majorly. And if frank doesn't work despite deserving at least a couple of seasons then what? Imo if things don't work for him it probably wont be through any fault of his own. Instead it will be us over expecting from him and a mis-match of expectations as we watch other clubs take the glory.

Tbh I don’t think those players are out biggest problem. Save maybe the 2 CMs because they are either never available or never on form for long stretches.

Sonny will go this summer and our issue will that we are a squad that doesn’t have one elite level attacking player.

We have loads of players who contribute well to an attacking system which is why so many of our players put up big numbers for goal involvements but not one of them can win a game on their own. Kudus maybe could be and Tel/Odobert possibly in a year or 2 but none for this CL season

I'm the chilleet chilled guy in chilly land - I do find it funny that every other post there's someone like you posting facts about how many signings we've made desperate to prove that they are right in their claims that we've made X amount of signings and spent this amount of money - I mean why does it even bother you that you feel the need to 'correct' people anyway?

But seeing as you like them, the fact of the matter is, the only real improvement to our starting eleven this season from last season is that we've now got Kudus and a new manager.

Whether that's enough, only time will tell.

I'll still turn up week in week out like the idiot I am
That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t signed 5 players. I am as gutted as anyone that we’ve not pushed on this summer after winning the EL and changed manager, but equally infuriated by people wanting to deny reality.

… but this squad did come 5th the year before, and we may still sign a couple more. Frank will make us harder to beat for sure, but I’m concerned we’ll start the season playing style wise like we did under Nuno.

If Levy remains in charge for the next 10 years we'll give it a bloody good go

Relegation that is

Unfortunately I agree!

Same. This is the bit that worries me. I'd love to see us start keeping clean sheets again but I really don't want to be watching 0-0 draws regularly. Hopefully he gets the balance right
