Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Just over 2 weeks until season starts. What an absolute shit show of a club . We finished 17th on 38 points , we’ve brought one in and likelihood is Sonny leaves before season starts . Back to the usual - “we tried but …… wouldn’t let ………, leave so close to the season starting “
We really know how to burst a bubble .
Another original post! No one has posted this before. Makes it worth it to check the thread every day.

Have to remember we still have to pay stadium off. But on flip side since poch left we have wasted money hiring wrong managers and mediocre players. Levy needs to get structure right again imo like it was under poch. Right manager, modern tactics, developing players, academy knocking on door getting in first team, right scout (mitchell). Was like a perfect pyramid. Since 2019 the pyramid has been dismantled.

I understand this , I do. It cannot however be a reason to not bring in players if we have to spend the last week of the window scrambling to sell Bissouma, Gil, Solomon, son etc then so be it.. we have to have the players in first.

Because we keep buying the cheap option and hoping we strike gold rather than signing ready made players. It will always be like this when you sign players like Gil - there is zero demand for them and they have to be loaned out or sold for less than £5m to a cash strapped La Liga side.

Buy top quality and if Real throw loads at it 2 seasons later then take the money, reinvest and do it all again. Instead we like the 2 in 10 model where we get a load of cheap players most don’t work and hang around like a bad smell but a couple become very good/great - the 8 fuck up the gains on the 2

Bentancur and Kulu have both won the Italian League multiple times.

Romero is a world cup winner.

Solanke has won the premier league. I agree he doesn't start for most top teams, but as a squad player he's decent.

Despite a poor season, Son was still top 5 is most attacking stats last season.

Porro gets in most top teams in Europe's starting 11, and if it wasn't for his long contract, would likely be back at City.

VDV is still at the potential stage. Needs to get over these injury issues. If he gets 1 full season in and retains the form he has shown, he becomes one of the most valuable CBs in the world.

In 3 or 4 years time, Sarr will be one of the top midfielders in the world.

On top of that, Tel showed last season exceptional desire and work rate. If that turns into goals, we have a diamond on our hands.

Spurs has an excellent squad - the problem is they are always fucking injured....and they are stuck playing Davies, Spence and kids with limited experience.
do you know what, I am going to entertain you

Darron Gibson and Ronnie Wallwork won the PL multiple times

Romero is the one world class player we have

Solanke never made a single appearance for Chelsea in their 16/17 title win

Son is a all time great but his legs have gone and you can throw attacking stats at me all you like but I will use my eyes

Porro does not get in most top teams in Europe's starting 11. He would not start for any of our rivals.

VDV lacks the one ability top players must have... availability

In 3 or 4 years time Sarr will be playing for Watford

Running a round like a headless chicken does not make a diamond. What I have seen so far is your bang average PL forward player he like 95% of bang average PL forward players will have the odd game where you think he's the next Ronaldo but most of the time he's Andy Sinton.

Well, prove it then. Show me the timeline of the tweets instead of throwing about accusations.
Go look it up yourself.

If you don't know that Solanke was linked as a target by journalists weeks if not months before he signed then that's on you. If you're not aware that Pedro Porro was linked weeks before then that again is on you. If you're not aware that Brennan Johnson was linked by various journalists at the beginning of that window then that again is on you. If you're not aware that it was reported we either wanted VDV or Tapsoba nearer the start of that window then that again is on you etc etc etc etc.

Because we buy bad, on bigger wages than there worth and they don't want to leave. Add in that other clubs and owners hate levy as he's pissed everyone off at some point and that makes matters worse.

There useless at the football side of things.

It's quite clear there was no big window planned (which we needed) given we're almost in August and Kudus is the only proper new signing we've made.

In contrast Chelsea, Liverpool and Woolwich all planned big windows and have gone about getting lots of high quality incomings sorted.

It's very unlikely we get 3/4 big signings done in the next month and as such the gap between us and top 4 will as big as it's ever been.

It’s the same old same old really.
We’ll sign a few youngsters & be done with it.
But Danny boy wants to win it all.
:levyhands:

If we sign paulinha on loan we still need another number 6 imo. Want cover for every position for new season after last years injury fiasco. But i do think under frank we wont have so many injuries. Defintely need cover for maddison and solanke as well.

Frank said in his HK presser we would be bringing players in.

Time is running out though, and we have Drag, Kulu and Destiny now injured so we need to be much quicker.

it's a shame the Super Cup (If it wasn't already) is complete write off now, we haven't even given ourselves a chance at even competing in that game
