Wharton also spent half of last season injured.Wharton looks much more an 8 than a 6 to me. I don't think they would be playing the same position and the experience at 6 will be key.

Which is what always ends up being said about every purportedly defensive midfielder. *Makes one forward run in a defeat* "Oh, he's really an 8".
I just think he needs service, doesn't have to be that great imo, great first time finisher with head and both feet, holds up play well. Feel like if he's in a functioning team he just scores. Don't feel like Bournemouth set their team up to feed Solanke they were just pretty good which we just weren't last year.If you give him great service in the box (oh matron!) he'll fill his boots with goals, he's a quality finisher.
But that's a scenario in which the players providing the service are doing all the work and creating all the value. Richy would score those goals, Tel would score those goals.
What Solanke can elevate himself with is just those little scrappy moments from nothing, flicking on a teammate in transition, nicking a turnover while pressing, scruffing in a rebound, etc. He's got natural ability for that stuff. We didn't extract enough from that last season.
One can only take your miserable whining for so long. You should be happy, though. You can wallow in your confirmation bias during the regular season without anyone calling you out.exact word I'd use for him
Luckily he does this every summer and buggers off as soon as the real football starts

Looks like this is definitely happening now
I assume he replaces Bissouma and his consistency = upgrade, even if he couldn't nail down a regular starting place at Bayern due to competition.
A loan might free up more cash to upgrade on Richarlison as a forward able to cover LW and or striker

Nah i feel it in my bones. I think we're having to be smart (and cheap) in one area to facilitate a bigger signing.
Its happening, I don't know who but likely a LW. Not many options available aside from simons or rodrygo, unless somebody else becomes available. Maybe psg get rodrygo amd look to offload barcola or someone.
Im optimistic!
TBF, we hired a manager who spent decades as a youth coach and I don't think it was coincidental. I don't think "backing Frank" looks like what you think it does. But I want to see Frank backed, and that means spending some big money to sign other teams elite players to make us better.
Wages was the point for ref, thats not changed.

One thing about Palhinha is that for better or for worse he is beyond any question an out-and-out 6.
Will fit right in at Spurs then
Kompany preferred 3 other midfielders and a right back playing in the pivot over him.
