I guess for Teams that sit back we will have the option of something like below, add in Udogie and Porro getting forward the only position that worries me is Udogie's Rotation and Tel being the Heir to Sonny, really need to see a lot more from Tel as its a huge Gamble , the club has the MGW money , go out and get a marque signing now to replace Sonny and someone to rotate with Udogie and Frank will actually have a chance.

...................Palinha.............
.....Bergvail......... .......Maddison'.......
Kudus...........Solanke................Tel
Yeah I think that's a good assumption. I wouldn't be surprised if Palinha isn't even used in some of them games and we just go with Bentancur sitting.

Palinha will be priceless in all the CL games and against top teams in the prem. But against lesser teams, where we expect to dominate possession, I could see us just using Bentancur in the 6 as he's just better at receiving the ball and dictating the tempo.

I miss the Poch days when we had Dembele and Wanyama, I don't think we will ever see another midfielder like Dembele, seriously has to go down as one of the most underrated players of the PL era!

Yeah i'm not sure what the long term plan is, it will be interesting to see what Frank's plan is for Gray as he wanted him before he came to Spurs, last season though we were just to weak in midfield , I'm not even sure what Formation Frank is going to play, I think he will change it game to game, but Palhinha will hopefully mean we aren't bullied so easily, I really hope the club are thinking about next season as well and this is just a stop gap.
I get the feeling it'll be something of a "horses for courses" deal with Frank. We seem to be building an array of options that suits how Frank manages. When we were in the frame for him, the consensus of opinion was that he sets up depending on who he is playing, rather than for a particular "system."

I expect that there will be games where Palhinha will start, particularly against teams like Liverpool or City, whereas he'll be a bench option against teams who play a deeper block, maybe coming on once we have a lead to close out a game.

I think Frank likes to have a number of different tools in his toolbox, Palhinha is just another one that'll do a specific job for him.

I'm sure this must have been asked before on here, so apologies if I've missed the joke, but why the fuck is that your user name? Is it meant to be sarcastic?
😛

I agree and youre completely right. I originally chose that as a new member recently and I was feeling optimistic at the time, i was riding the wave of the European trophy and buoyed by the arrival of frank.
But thats well and truly been drained out of me now. The ownership has a tendency to do that.

Il be changing it soon.

Palhinha, Gray, Bentancur, sarr, bergvall, maddison, kulu.
7 players for 6 positions. That's our options for the midfield 3. We may lineup many games with sarr or bergvall etc instead of a traditional 10. Similar to the more workhorse like midfield Liverpool used to use.

Odobert, Tel, kudus, johnson, richy, solanke. That's 6 players for 3 positions. Also its not strong enough imo.

Im absolutely all for having a very solid base to the team, keeps G/A low and being stubborn bastards to play against. But if you don't have enough for other teams to worry about going the other way then you're in trouble.

I did not see all the game yesterday but we probably found that once we lost the threat of kudus and instead had johnson thats when Woolwich really pushed on and penned us in abit?
We need another quality wide player or a physical monster out wider to carry the threat.

Dembele was unbelievable and very underrated during his playing years. He was one the best midfielders in the league!

I do think he gets well rated now though. It's almost like the Paul Scholes situation where people keep going on about how underrated he was when he played that people nearly start to overrate them now!

I will, doesn’t stop me voicing that I think the club have gone for completely the wrong profile of player in the position. We need a Carrick/Huddlestone not a Freund

Guy is more a Waynama than Freud, he is an elite destroyer but I get your point. To offset we need to keep Romero and additionally get someone else to compete with Maddison so we have enough ball retention and forward ball movement.

We have got a guy who is A+ off the ball and D on the ball. Wharton was the player I most wanted but that is a £80-100m signing.

Eze really would have been the perfect signing. Shame he's desperate for the Woolwich move. Sounds like he only wants them and isn't entertaining any other clubs.

Every good team needs a nuts and bolts player. Paulunha has been brought in for that reason. Decent signing imo.
He doesn't have a single u in his name, but you managed to squeeze in two.
