Eze really would have been the perfect signing. Shame he's desperate for the Woolwich move. Sounds like he only wants them and isn't entertaining any other clubs.

Yes but its not possible now. I do like a playmaker type lw, especially if the are likely to tuck in abit. We need creativity but also someone with really good ball retention higher up the pitch.

With the money we didn't spend on MGW (60M) we should go hard for a difference maker.

Someone like simons should be gettable. He would get far more playing time and a better platform to play here opposed to chelsea.

Do they even want him tho? I assume Madueke will play left
Apparently the player only wants them and Woolwich already have all the personal terms agreed. I think they want to sell Trossard first though so couldn't act before the release clause expired.

Madueke is a right winger but imagine they will try to move him to the left if they can't sign another.

Guy is more a Waynama than Freud, he is an elite destroyer but I get your point. To offset we need to keep Romero and additionally get someone else to compete with Maddison so we have enough ball retention and forward ball movement.

We have got a guy who is A+ off the ball and D on the ball. Wharton was the player I most wanted but that is a £80-100m signing.
Agreed, but I think Wanyama was way better on the ball; his press resistance was top (almost as good as Dembele’s) and he was quite underrated as a passer.

Against deep blocks, you’ll need help from every angle; you can’t have someone who can’t contribute.

Wharton was my dream signing too, but that doesn’t mean we give up on the profile of player; Stiller, Rovella are also out there as options.

I can see Palhinha is going to be our new "Ericksonn"

some shocking attempts at the name.
FOK them, respectless bastards!

True, but surely Palinha isn't being signed to play against low blocks, surely he's being signed to give us a tough destroyer for games when we don't have as much possession - the top EPL sides, the top CL sides etc. I'd be surprised if he started against the lower quality low block teams. For me this is Frank doing Frank - assembling a variety of completely different options for different situations.
