He’s been hawked around a few clubs
There's one footed and then there's "I am going to contort myself to hit this with my good foot even though it's a simple ball for my other foot" one-footed.
His brother pimped him out hardReminds me fucking Anelka with this whole jumping from one club to another
Injuries are a massive reason on whether teams have successful seasons. Leicester kept most of the same team each week when they won. Liverpool had most of their best players available when needed last season. I doubt they win the League if Salah was injured for a large chunk. In contrast we've been decimated with injuries for large parts of the past two seasons. But apparently that was Ange's fault, so we should have a good run this season.Ok so what other factors go into a successful season?
You’ve said it won’t always be the transfer window. A lot of people are saying the transfer window is the key to having a good season this year.
There isn't one person of sound mind that would think Wharton, who is a ~£100m player is a young, unproven player.
There's semantics, then there's this. Zero credibility to your argument.
Exactly this.I think he is a young unproven player tbf. Same, if not more risk than signing a 30-year old. He has one full EPL season with 5 assists to his name and no strong defensive metrics (considering he is being thought of as a 6).
Now, I completely agree that he had loads of potential and could end up a world beater as well as incredible deep lying midfielder. But then again, loads of young players don't fulfill their potential.
That's what Palace want. English, homegrown, and a stand out CM in the league last year in his first full season.
He's absolutely a £100 or close. I'm guessing you don't know what '~' means, but it means circa. If you don't think they're getting around that figure, you don't have a clue.
I'll add that next summer he'll be off to City or Liverpool.

Cant blame levy after the ndombele fiasco, he was happy to just pocket his fat pay cheque and bide his time putting in nothing performancesStill slightly annoyed we never tried to do a deal for Jonathan David, incredibly consistent goalscorer with all the attributes to do well in PL, Juve got him on a very cheap deal when considering they paid something like a 13.5m euro signing on fee and have him on £200k a week, an incredibly cheap deal if he can replicate his Lille form at his next club, really does make me think we are eager to avoid going over around £150k/week unless bonuses are heavily involved and whenever a player has a choice between that and guaranteed money we will always be 2nd fiddle.

A lot of naturally left footed players are like that for whatever reason. In the middle of the park where time and space are everything that can be tricky.

take a bow mate I think you mentioned this a few days ago through your mate at the telegraph?
The high price is because Palace don’t want, or don’t need to sellExactly this.
He's good and he has a lot of potential, but I think it's absolutely mental the sums being thrown around on here as being his "value." He's done absolutely nothing to merit him being valued as an elite player, which is what anything at the mooted £80M or more would make him.
There's some utter lunacy on here.
Agree mostly but I think Palhinha does the job for now. However for next season they need to be lining up one of those you mentioned and also develop the young midfielders we already have otherwise what’s the point of buying them. Not to forget any of our own academy players. Jeez can we give at least one or two them a chance to see if they are good enough. We could be sitting on a gold mine but will never know at this rate.Palhinha a cheap option of course
if it was him with a new younger DM then great, but that's unlikely. Levy my dear Goblin friend, if you want to win the league you need to go to Brighton and drop a bag of coin for Baleba. or at least look at Ederson from Atalanta, perhaps Gomes at wolves. or ideally you get Ederson baleba etc and still bring in Pahinha on loan because you want to compete in all competitions
you cant always cheap your way to success, worked last season but it's a fools game
Shocking really considering we are meant to have one of the smartest chairman around. He should be sacked the above alone. Wait for this years activity or next couple of years when you can add Richi 60M , Johnson 47M, Solanke 60M, Tel 45M and see what the P/L is on themHere is a list of all the players we bought and then sold since 2012.
The most profit we made was £18 mill on Tripps. Next was Wimmer with £10 mill.
We have made a cumulative loss of £350 mill on transfers.
Only made a profit on 13 out of 54.
Edit: Put Gil in as I assumed he will leave.

I’d sell Johnson to whoever will pay decent money for him. He just no great footballing skills and is weak. If frank wants hard workers, some say MADDs me be at risk, then surely Johnson should be worried.I think it's fair to say that the theory of "Brentford made massive bids on both Johnson and Gray, therefore they will be at the center of Frank's plans" has not come to fruition.
Frank's job was to make a football team out of what the Brentford recruitment operation gave him, same job he's been hired for here, and Johnson and Gray aren't starters at present.
