Why do t we try for Sesko? Newcastle look very likely to have an offer accepted.f they get him Isak goes to Liverpool, think of their front 3, then think of ours.
My gut feeling is they want to get the structure of the team right, have a a properly competitive season, and believe Solanke is a solid performer who will give the team a platform to play off.

Then when we’ve shown we are a functioning team again that doors wi be open to more promising players than are currently and they’ll look to sign the next hot young striker prospect.

That’s just what it feels like to me.

With Sonny leaving would still get rid of Richie and bring in a decent striker to compete with Dom.
Can't see us getting another winger with Tel and Odobert fighting it out on the left.

Still slightly annoyed we never tried to do a deal for Jonathan David, incredibly consistent goalscorer with all the attributes to do well in PL, Juve got him on a very cheap deal when considering they paid something like a 13.5m euro signing on fee and have him on £200k a week, an incredibly cheap deal if he can replicate his Lille form at his next club, really does make me think we are eager to avoid going over around £150k/week unless bonuses are heavily involved and whenever a player has a choice between that and guaranteed money we will always be 2nd fiddle.
Didn't like his name.

The front 3 are generally the most subbed and so you need more attackers as 4/5 play each match. Get a couple of injuries and the bench can look very thin. We need another attacking player but I prefer it to be someone that can play central as Solanke needs support and Richie cannot be trusted to be fit for much of the season. Even better if he is better than Solanke.

We will 100% get another striker, whether that is a loan or purchase.

Richarlison can't hack it physically, and doesn't possess the tools, and it would just need an injury to Solanke and then what?

I think Frank will want/seek a strong-running, agile striker who can score a few goals.

To fail to bring a striker in would be the height of irresponsible and leave us scrambling players in positions they are not suited to.

Let's not.

The reality is that some players simply won't go to certain clubs. That's probably how it's always been, although this window is quite exceptional.

What's striking is how Liverpool appear to have gone to the top of the food chain, City very silent, and United overpaying on hope.

Not sure exactly what our strategy is, but we can't compete with the 4 obvious clubs at present.
We just hope

For better or worse, Tel is the presumed Son replacement.

They did not pay 30M for a player, who has barely shown anything so far, to spend another year doing nothing substantial. It was a questionable move to go all-in for him like that, but there's no going back now.

The only plan we ever have is to not have a plan

Double Take No GIF

Ah the old no plan plan. That’s the second time I’ve fallen for it this window

Probably Wissa

I don't think we're even remotely interested in a CF.
But yes as it stands we're comfotably around the 7th - 8th best attack in the pl. Some potential growth in there but all the other teams ahead of us have that also.

Going to be a hell of a lot of tight games this season, even against the bottom teams.
does look like it doesnt it, we have no real cutting edge in the final third and havent since kane.

That's what Palace want. English, homegrown, and a stand out CM in the league last year in his first full season.

He's absolutely a £100 or close. I'm guessing you don't know what '~' means, but it means circa. If you don't think they're getting around that figure, you don't have a clue.

I'll add that next summer he'll be off to City or Liverpool.
Full season...played 20 games...
