I've got 100 percent faith in what Frank thinks is the plan for that left wing. Johnson will get 20 goals plus from there (not taking on men etc) and I think Odobert is a much better player on the left.

Absolute dream would be Rodrygo but that's just not realistic in the slightest from the players side let alone the club.

Leao is a phenomenal talent but I don't think you can train someone how to press and track back, ask Piolli and Allegri. Just don't think you can have a passenger in this league and again the players not going to want to come here.

Mitoma probably my ideal replacement, 2 years left on his contract probably in the £50 million range for a 28 year old who's never really put up the numbers you'd think he's capable of. 10 goals and 4 assists in the league last year. Does address having someone there who can take on players 1 v 1 (although I think Odobert is very good at that and is 8 years younger). Do think Mitoma consistently gave Porro the hardest time of anyone I've seen him face in the last few years.

If Chelsea or Woolwich had finished 4th bottom but qualified for the Champions League Rodrygo would be realistic ....So he should be realistic for a club of similar size and wealth like us.

This is the broblem with our fanbase. Cowered and battered down by years of abuse by the owners.

We really do need to raise our fucking standards

A lot depends on how he would be used. He could come off the bench and provide a spark when needed in the second half.

I can't see the point in such a player.

We appear to lack a cutting edge and Solanke and Richarlison compare unfavourably to all the available options of the better teams,in my opinion.

It needs a solution, and the links to Wissa hardly generate optimism (but are something). 29 years of age doesn't represent long term.

A real issue for us in my opinion, especially with the Champions League to contend with.

Mitoma isn't an answer.

Still, Son was the Top Spurs player with most goals and assists last season (tied with Maddison)

We need to find a way to replace that.

Son and Maddison got 23 goals and assists each. Johnson got 25 and Solanke 24. Kulusevski got 21. They were shared around the attacking players.

The point I was making was that we rarely saw Son cut in and shoot from outside the box under Ange and it is his major strength. Even in traning yesterday he was pinging them top bins from 25 yards.

Not sure what Dibling offers us. He was struggling to start for Southampton last year so I imagine he's not ready yet..and is he definitely a better prospect than Tel, Odobert and Moore? I'm not certain he is. And we really need to stop buying potential. We just lost a club legend. Let's bring in someone who's ready to start now
I was under the impression he was one of their best players last season, so my bad, but when I 've seen him play (less than a dozen times) and reading his wright-ups, the boy can beat a man and has the most beautiful left foot to finish or find a teammate.

For a start, I have (a) few talents but predicting the future ain't one, rather unfortunately. So nope, I'm not shitting on everything the club will do in the future, cause I just don't friggin know. And I'm also a big believer that things, no matter how set in stone they appear to be, can always change.

As for our present. If you go back to that list with your eyes & mind open, you'll notice that there were players I was positive about: Danso, Porro, Bergvall...I'm also very happy we signed Thomas Frank & I'm positively intrigued about Vinnie...so no, it ain't all doom & gloom. Many times on here I've also defended 6 outta 10 Ben, said how excited I was about kids like Mikey. And even those players I criticize for their shortcomings, I know how to give them credit where it's due eg Vicario is an unreal shotstopper, Udogie is a proper athlete, Romero is pure class when his head is in the right place, fair play to Djed & his character for breaking through after troubled beginnings, Bentancur is an elegant high IQ player, Sarr has an unbelievable engine, Madders can pick locks like few can in the PL, Brennan is top at that one specialist thing he does, massive respect to big Dom for how hard he works for the team etc etc. And it ain't all about the players, I also give Levy & his gang their props...for the new stadium & training facilities, for sourcing all those commercial opportunities that make us financially solid, for the work being done in the community, for not acting like Liverpool/Arse/Chelsea in the media.

Re our past, I'll leave you with a wee list of the things that the club done that made me weak at the knees and even weep like a baby, knowing I'm a rather tough emotionless bastard most of the time. Probably could have kept going on, but I've just spent the night watching clips of Sonny and wanna get a few hours' kip before the Legend's farewell game.

- Winning the glorious FA Cup in 1991 is one of my most cherished memories as a Spurs fan...can't wait to win it again
- That Jonny Woodgate header to defeat the scum in '08
- Bagging another 25-30 trophies...not bad for a club that never wins anything
- That Ajax night
- All our great wins & goals vs the cunts down the road: Gazza's crack, Danny Rose's volley, that insane curler from Kane, Coco's rabona...
- The old White Hart Lane and the first games I attended with my dad as a kid before football became all about business
- Signing/producing great players like Glenn, Kane, Gazza, Klinsmann, Ossie, Waddle, Mabbutt, Anderton, Ginola, Lineker, Berbatov, Rafa, Bale, Eriksen, Modric, Sonny...
- Our illustrious old guard: Jimmy Greaves, Chivers, Mullery, Roberts, Steve P, Dave Mackay, the Allen trio, Peters, Jennings...
- Our legendary managers...and those who could've been like BMJ, Poch or Tim Sherwood (lol)
- Meeting Harry before he became Kane, many other players over the years like Toby, BAE, Dawson, Jenas, Huddlestone, Freund, Kanoute...
- Meeting AVB and receiving a lovely letter from him a few weeks afterwards
- And of course Bilbao: God knows Ange and the squad drove me nuts last season, but fuck me how insanely good that felt. Seeing Sonny lift the trophy, I cried for 2 or 3 hours straight (the heavy partying & injuring my leg probably played a part, though)

COYS
Summed up superbly mate 💪

Palhinha on loan then a failed £60m bid for a winger on deadline day

So Excited Flirting GIF

Really? I know he's a little prone to wanting to move but wherever he's been he's performed very well. His stats year after year have been very good haven't they?

And even if he wanted out in a couple of seasons im sure he will actually be a player that we can sell for big money rather than peanuts like usual.
Stats in the bundesliga aren't everything. Nkunku, Werner, Havertz, Keita, Kagawa, Sancho. All had great stats. Have to verify with the eye test, and to me Simons doesn't look special whatsoever. Lightweight too. He'll flop in England.
