Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We’ve been pretty shit at recruiting from the PL because we don’t shop from the top shelf.

All our best signings except Bale were from outside the PL
Your going back a while and we have recruited plenty from outside the EPL that have not delivered.
The magnificent 7 we bought (2013) with the Bale money, I'd argue only one, Eriksen, was truly successful.

I'm not saying we should only buy EPL experienced players, I'm saying by doing so we know they have already adapted to the league, as I'm not sure we have the luxury of bedding some of them in, along with our young contingent.

You know what you are doing. I know what you are doing. Everyone knows what you are doing.

If it was purely football related, why ask the opinions of “Levy defenders”?

At least own it and don’t be so disingenuous. You’re better than that.
Because it’s pretty clear all the Levy outers believe we are up shit creek right now . We have a new manager , we now have the CL which is way more competitive than the EL . We have only added Kudus and Takai to the team that finished 17th , whilst losing Son . Takai won’t start let’s be honest .

I know the views of people who think like me , the Levy in brigade have not expressed a view .

Whether that be we desperately need to replace him , or actually I think we are good as is. Or if they have I have missed it

cheeky little swoop for Ross Barkley?
You are so going to hell.

Ok.

Was Trippier Prem proven? I thought Burnley were championship at the time?

Hojberg is a no in this list. Johnson and Maddison are trophy winners so I think they count tbf

Modric, Berbatov, Bale (Championship at the time iirc? Def not prem proven), Van de Vaart, Romero, Son, Eriksen, Dele…

The list of non prem proven players in our best modern era players is much longer and more illustriou
s
True, but the list of failures is also far bigger too.

we've been brainwashed to still think of ourselves as a club along the likes of Villa, Everton or newcastle. It's hard to see through the fog sometimes and remember she would really be matching arsena, chelsea and pool on the pitch
If we are going off the rich list thing on Forbes, we are much bigger than Villa, Everton and Newcastle, that much is true. But being 9th richest in the world is also 5th richest in England, as far behind the four richer clubs than we are ahead of those mentioned. So our firm place in the league reckoning would be 4th / 5th / 6th. Probably our average over the last decade or so?

Unless I missed it , in which case I apologise I don’t think any of the Levy defenders answered my question .

If we do not sign a top quality experienced replacement now for Maddison is that an acceptable scenario to them that can be justified . That was the question maybe not word for word
Sorry, I’ll just pop down to the top quality replacement Maddison shop and decide which one to buy. I may be some time as there’s a huge choice to pick from and they all want to come to spurs and no one else is interested.
Is it acceptable to say that just because we haven’t heard they’re trying means they’re not. Or indeed that we offer good money but they’re not interested or prefer Italy, etc etc et fucking cetera

  • 4th: Manchester United - £651.5m (771m euros)
  • 5th: Bayern Munich - £646.5m (765m euros)
  • 6th: Barcelona - £642m (760m euros)
  • 7th: Woolwich - £606m (717m euros)
  • 8th: Liverpool - £604m (715m euros)
  • 9th: Tottenham - £520m (615m euros)
  • 10th: Chelsea - £461.5m (546m euros)

thats from ange jan 24 to jan 25 next time round with Europa win and CL it will be closer to liverpools 600m

so to be on that list minus the huge CL football money the rest of them enjoy regular is crazy (we actually had no european football and little extra cup games for majority of that fiscal year even.
Levy's mind tricks no longer work on me, we should be way more ambitious

Club need to get moving a lot of work needs to be done.

Yes, and I think we will see a fair bit of movement, to supplement and support our younger talent.

With the Maddison loss, it adds another layer of need, but it's also abundantly clear we are lacking another striker, maybe a goalie, and a defender.

I cant see us even feathering the top 4 this season but 5th to 8th is the minimum requirement, in my mind.
