If Rodrygo plays for Tottenham Hotspur this season I’ll get a tattoo of Levy’s face on my cock.

I don't think I can recall a time since the George Graham post-Ginola days that we had such an uninspiring selection of attacking players at the club.

Even more insane when you consider the amount of money spent in assembling this bunch.
Nothing wrong with Rory Allen, Neal Fenn, Paul McVeigh and Steffen Iversen...

I remember a game when we had Andy Booth and Dave McEwen as attacking options.

And lets not forget the great Grzegorz Rasiak... dark days.

"biggest names in football at the time"

At a time of Baggio, Batistuta, Romario, Stoichkov, Maldini etc.

He had a good world cup but there was a reason why he was a third the price of Chris Sutton. The fact is that he seemed like an incredible signing for one of the most average spurs sides in the history of the club that was finishing in the bottom half. Signing a player that cost half the price of Phil Babb and telling him he could leave for half that price after one season is hilarious to declare as "ambition" - it was a depressing symbol of what Sugar was manifesting for the club
How old are you?

Also assuming he’s keeping Davies because a veteran presence. Probably named assistant captain. But the new CB will allow Micky to be the real LB deputy

Rodrygo offer likely 70m + add ons taking it well over 80+.

Add ons would have to be realistic - i.e. champs league qualification for next year. Maybe a domestic cup

Salary? Well, he's on 200k a week. I'd expect he's ask for 250 to 300.

Personally, I can't see it happening unless there are zero offers from big clubs. In which case, it won't be till deadline day. I assume he's being forced out of Madrid?

Maddison is physically not able to cope anymore so he cannot be relied upon

Kulu is not really a 10......I like him but I don't know where he fits in anymore

Frank needs a 10 playmaker to suit his tactics and physical demands

Yeh; I don't think this is as much about finding a stand-in for Maddison as it is now fast forwarding to needing his longer term replacement.

The argument is never about transfer spend... its always about who we spend it. Ndombele aside, we never go big. The only Palhinha is on big dough is because no transfer or loan fee is involved. Big clubs spend big money on both transfer fees and wages. We only do one or the other... never both.
True we're 7th in the league for wages, Villa the only one above is who probably shouldn't be. Side note but that loss for Villa against United on the last day of the season was (thankfully for us) an absolute catastrophe for them. Fair play to them having the bollocks to go all or bust for the year though, I like everyone else here would like to see us attempt that sort of season. Maybe worth keeping a manager for 2 seasons first before we go all in.

Agree. People say you cant replace Kane and Son and fair enough but we havent even really tried. Forget Kane and Son or even Berbatov and Sheringham, someone like Robbie Keane would be the best forward player in this squad by a country mile.

To say we haven't tried even though we spent 60m on both Dom & Richy is a bit disingenuous.

TBF, pre-Liverpool Keane was a bangin' player. Loved having him here (first time round).

you'd have thought that knowing with the likely once in a generation super cup final against PSG where the whole world will be watching the game we'd have really pushed the boat out a bit.

However you view our trf business; we (nor virtually any clubs) weren't gonna "push the boat" out solely for a game that many see as little more than a glammed up charity shield.

No ot hasn't but we're not exactly going into the season in the strongest position.

In ur views have we done anywhere near enough to stop the likes of palace, Bournemouth, etc from showing us how to play football, even at our own gaff?

We will be better defensively im not doubting that.
From an outsider's standpoint we haven't done enough. We need a creative player minimum and possibly a striker. Defensively I'm not too worried.

But this is an outsider's point of view. I have no idea how Frank is planning to use the players at his disposal, so I'll wait until the season is 10 games in before making any definitive judgements.
