Another bit of info on Rodrygo. In a 2023 interview, Ancelotti said he thought his best position was as a mediapunta, essentially a number 10.

Should also be said that the player says his preferred role is on the left wing

Rodrygo offer likely 70m + add ons taking it well over 80+.

Add ons would have to be realistic - i.e. champs league qualification for next year. Maybe a domestic cup

Salary? Well, he's on 200k a week. I'd expect he's ask for 250 to 300.

Personally, I can't see it happening unless there are zero offers from big clubs. In which case, it won't be till deadline day. I assume he's being forced out of Madrid?

Only only only remote hope is not takers so we sign him on loan.

Let's be honest, 24 year old, top quality player is not likely to commit to Tottenham for 4-5 years even if they coughed up enough wages.

It would be a welcomed miracle.

Nothing wrong with Rory Allen, Neal Fenn, Paul McVeigh and Steffen Iversen...

I remember a game when we had Andy Booth and Dave McEwen as attacking options.

And lets not forget the great Grzegorz Rasiak... dark days.
I think at that time though we were fortunate to have Keane, Defoe, and Mido picking up his slack and for where we were as a club at the time that was a very good 3/4 of a strike force.

The Rodrgyo links just feel like another stick to beat us with.
"Deluded Spuds thought they'd sign Rodrygo etc"

And then fans will inevitably use it as a stick to beat Levy.
"Tried and failed for Rodrygo like Aguero, Grealish etc"

In truth, we probably aren't even interested in him. If Woolwich couldn't him, we certainly can't.

How's the unlimited funds working for Newcastle and Villa in this window?

There's only a certain amount of PSR FFP trouncing you can do, think we're 4th in net spending when it comes to transfers in the league in the last 5 years, will probably be there this window come the end of it. Can question what we spend the money on or if we spend enough but can't argue there's not money to be spent.
How's the game changing stadium going for Spurs? Is the question to be asked here.

The team was better in the few years before the new stadium was opened.

Sure more has been spent but the same can be said for most other PL teams, so the new stadium has maintained the status quo. The club has spent more but because of increased player value, they're actually worse players than what was there in the few years prior to the new stadium opening.

The last time I checked the club had a hefty transfer budget debt.

Can’t believe Damsgaaed is only 25. If you asked me to guess I would’ve said 30

We make more money from this stadium than we did from White Hart Lane. It's just expectations isn't it, has it allowed us to spend more money than 16 other clubs and more wages than 13 other clubs, yeah. Has it given a sudden influx of money in the way Newcastle, Villa and Chelsea have had with new ownership, no.

Pointless going into squads but a 5 million punt on a championship player and the best striker in world football coming through our youth system along with having a pretty underwhelming initial managerial appointment absolutely work helped.
