Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not exactly. I’d be very surprised and quite impressed if it happened.

However - where else is he going to go? I’m always reading on here that we are a massive side and I agree to an extent. Taking into account infrastructure, finance, potential, etc we’d be in the top dozen clubs in the world. Do any of the larger clubs want this guy? Not looking like it. Whispers of both the London red and blue plagues, but nothing really.

As far as affordability goes, I’d hope that the player who has been told he is surplus to requirements at the largest club in the world, knows his direction is downwards and that should be the case with his salary too.

Finally, champions league will maybe be a pull. The seven star training facilities. London (although I don’t particularly care for the place) seems to have a magnetic pull too.

There’s a world where this can happen.

But it almost certainly won’t.
That's my little tiny tiny hope, probably needs Woolwich to sign Eze and Liverpool to sign Isaak but outside of that there's absolutely nowhere to go for him and after being 'the other guy' at Madrid for so long as a starter i hope he'd think more of himself than just being a bench warmer, especially now Arda has come in ahead of him (albeit in a different position).

On an unrelated note can someone make a gif of Rodrygo's face fading into Jacob Ramsey's face please to use in 12 days time?

We make more money from this stadium than we did from White Hart Lane. It's just expectations isn't it, has it allowed us to spend more money than 16 other clubs and more wages than 13 other clubs, yeah. Has it given a sudden influx of money in the way Newcastle, Villa and Chelsea have had with new ownership, no.

Pointless going into squads but a 5 million punt on a championship player and the best striker in world football coming through our youth system along with having a pretty underwhelming initial managerial appointment absolutely work helped.
The fact of the matter is the team isn't any better now, than before the new stadium was opened.

The last time I checked the club had a £330million transfer debt which would account for a fair portion of the transfers since the new stadium opened. According to Levy's financial statement in the spring this year, the club have spent £700m on player acquisitions since the new stadium opened 2019

I don't know what the argument is? We make more money at the new place and spend more money. Debt wise probably doesn't help buying system players for system managers and sacking them 4 times since the new place opened.

We had a better first 11 last season at WHL obviously, probably the best first 11 we've had in 40 years and they were in this day and age £20-40 million pound signing ls that just came really good under a manager. Football is luck. That team made me prouder than I've ever been as a Spurs fan but somehow this team made me happier.

Other than you and a few others on this forum is there anyone in our fan base that believes the club expends resources to make people believe "we tried?"

I mean, grow up.

Depends

Do I think the the recruitment waste time profiling a player not to sign them? No

Do I think Levy gets into public negotiations for players that he knows that he can’t sign? Yes because he’s done exactly that plenty of times

So I guess those think the super cup is a glorified friendly are expecting almost a b team with Burnley just 3 days later? I don't know, just wondering?

By time we travel back, have a rest day and then a light training day it will be time for Burnley at home.

Im fully expecting for frank to play his best 11 tbh.

Winning something is a big psychological lift. Beating the Champions League winners to do it amplifies it even more. Imagine how it will help TF. It's not exactly a trophy we'll be competing for every year so we should go for it and try and get some more shiny stuff on the shelf.

Yes i agree. I think we will go all out with best 11 to win, but maybe im wrong.

Maybe im misjudging it all but I thought it was being treated pretty seriously.
