The bed wetting on here is horrendous.

We have signed two first team upgrades which would have been 3 had BigMacwithfriesanakis not dropped his Happy Meal. We will get at least the 3rd with the MGW money. 3 first team upgrades? I’m not going to say that’s unprecedented but it’s highly unusual. Tel may or may not be a 4th upgrade (versus a declining Son, not a prime Son)

Most people on here were saying if Son stayed for next year he would have been a sub to Tel/Odobert to maybe impact the game late. So his departure is not a significant event for our 25/26 season, albeit it is a significant event in our history given his past service. I bet the same people who are crying that we haven’t signed a replacement yet are the same people in match threads saying “Son is shit. Next game start Odobert / Tel / Moore”

Even if we signed Eze and Rodrygo this week half of you would be throwing yourselves to the floor in a tantrum saying “where’s our backup LB/LCB Levy, you cheap bald git!”.

I hate this place sometimes.

The potential of this club is probably beyond comprehension, but it needs to be competitive on the field, with the odd success here and there.

Yessh...there are so many financial wizards on here I'm surprised they're wasting their time posting on here when they can better use it emailing their thoughts and bending baldy's ear 👂 with their expert business acumen.

Levy's stewardship has steered us from financial weakness to one of strength but I don't think anyone (certainly not on here) outside a very small group of people know the constraints the various covenants entered into with lenders place on our ability to spend.

I don't mention this as an excuse for Levy to run the Club the way he does, on the contrary, I believe his inability to move away from the current business model both for reasons of choice and lack of personal wealth make it patently obvious the time has come for him/ENIC to sell up and move on.....sadly (for him) the profit he makes will be the only credit he will be getting.

Thanks. Always welcome to read a post of perspective, thought and insight.

I don't think Levy is inclined to sell but outside investment with conditions, not designed simply to further inflate an already overcooked transfer market (which it would of course), but to enable more proactive movement.

The gap in the next 2 or 3 years, including United if they get it right, might then take another 5 to bridge.

We finished 17th last season, appointed a new manager but Levy and ENIC are doing the barest of bare minimums yet again.

It's a fucking disgrace really.

I think people are pissed off that far from a near perfect start with Kudus and The Weed from Forest we have trod water.if we had 60m to put down surely we had a plan b c d e to snap up when the fat bloke blocked us.

It's really disappointing but I honestly think we are waiting for some clubs to lower absolutely insane valuations.

I mean Mbuemo nearly 70 million. That's criminal. Bloke's done nothing in real terms.

We will buy more players, not just because I hope so but because we must.

Be interesting to hear his honest opinion of the window so far and the effect it's going to have on season which for us begins in 6 days.

He can't claim it's a tough market etc considering what used to be are rivals have accomplished so far. And what the team we beat in the final continues to do in the window.

I would really be interested in hearing how he spins it. There's sustainability and then there's taking the piss during a CL qualifying cup winning windfall season

I can't actually believe fans fall for this EVERY SUMMER.
Same old crap. Investment. Selling up. Joey spending his money before he dies etc, etc, etc.
When people accept that this club will be run by Levy, ENIC etc in some capacity until it goes out of business, they'll probably be better balanced.

We are a big business. A lot of senior figures earn bloody good wages working for this business, just like senior figures in other big, non football businesses.
They're not selling.
That was never the plan.
Club makes money.
Spend just enough of it that it keeps making money.
Take your salary.
Carry on for your life and your successors lives.
When Daniel is dead, I have no doubt his son takes the reigns and outlives most of us.
 
Since i am from Poland - saw some weak links about Zieliński from Inter to potentially replace Maddison. Prolly bullshit, but think - why not post it here and cause another meltdown? :D

But to leave some serious comment: his ball movement reminds me Madders a little bit indeed. One of his best matches last season was against Man City -so despite struggling whole year at new club some skill is still there. I could see him work as potential cheap backup with Madders being fit - but in current situation when we need 10 to run whole show, it would be underwhelming signing.
 
If the club has,, anything, ANYTHING, about them, they would go all out for Eze now.

Fuck the fact he wants Woolwich, make Palace an offer they can't refuse. Make an offer that Woolwich simply won't want to match, above their valuation, blow them out the water and get it done.

Give Eze the choice of Palace or us. He will pick us.

Let’s see if they are upgrades first

Son was better than Kudus last season and peak Bentancur is a better footballer than Palinha.

We’ve signed 2 ENIC transfers. They might work out, let’s hope they work out but it’s too early to say they are definitely upgrades right now.

And I’m saying that as someone who always rated Kudus.
