I'm so uninspired by these El Khannouss links. I'm not sure if this lad even starts for us even with the Maddison injury.

I've seen him play a few times. He's a very tidy midfielder with tonnes of potential. So is Bergval! Would I swap Bergval for him? No, I wouldn't.

Is he in the same league as James Maddison who we are trying to replace? Christ no! He'll need to take a huge step forward to get to that level and be a 10+ goals 10+ assist midfielder every season. He's just another prospect who yes might be very good long term but he's not going to save our season and cover Maddison.

Yup, and it means we're always going to be 1 player short of having 2 players for each position in our CL squad because we'll only have 21 players (+Austin 3rd choice keeper) instead of 22 and also no academy depth because we're loaning out all the best List B players.

All that aside, and let's say it didn't even matter and there were no HG or CT rules anyway....

We were at our best when we had a strong core of England starting players
Kane, Dele, Dier, Walker, Rose, Trippier. For me, we've never been the same since our core was broken up.
